Have noticed before but is there a reason why it SEEMS like only Kali drivers park in the left lane on the Interstate ? Most of us move over when & after passing just saying ?:wow:

I am probably the only vehicle with CA plates that doesn't Left Lane hog. I always get over after passing, but I am also never going more than 5mpg over the speed limit.

Because our freeways have 5 or more lanes that are always jammed. We don't know how to drive when there is no traffic because we have never experienced such a luxury.

Come to NY. NJ is not as bad but still not the best. Every lane becomes a passing lane.

Hahahaha I was just curious is all ! We passed some folks just outside Albq. who just had no clue , even after about 20 cars passed them and still they just parked there doing 65 & the world moved by them . Even my son 18 yr old knows better (been beaten into his head) ! Not even the old Autobahn works on em flashing headlights nor do they try to speed up so they don't fungu up 18 wheeler's . Oh well & we wonder why road rage ?

It's not just California. I've driven all over the Country, and the standard of driving is pretty poor everywhere.

It has to do with traffic.

In areas with a consistant low levels of traffic it is easy to be a good driver and people in these areas tend to behave nicely. When roads are only 20% utilized, you can HAVE a passing lane and a driving lane.

Most of California is hell traffic. Lanes mean nothing when the entire highway is moving at 25 mph. People that spend 90% of their driving time in situations like this tend not to think much about passing lanes, ALL lanes are needed to move traffic and they are ALL slow. The "fast" or "Passing" lanes are really lanes to get in when you're not getting off the highway and don't want to get stuck in miles of stopped traffic for the next freeway interchange. Most of California simply does not have the "Luxury" of a dedicated passing lane.

Unfortuantely when they then find themselves out in the wilds of NV or Utah, they carry along the "any lane is a good lane" mentality...

I'm a Californian and I have noticed this as well when I travel out of state. No idea why, but we do seem to have a lot of clueless drivers. Some are jerks, others just don't know any better.

Yes I travel n Kali enough to have been in those PARKING LOT jams . Expect it there not in the wide open spaces of anything off the Left Coast !! :fishing: There was someone on here a while back who was complaining about how rude drivers were on I-15 Vegas to Kali , guess he's not used to real freeway speeds because he was parked in the left & was catching heat & couldn't handle it :boom: Oh well all good spirit NOT :juggle: :usa1: No one was injured in this cluster F
