Sound / Nav / window switch questions

I have an 03 4R with no navigation and a so so factory sound system. Looks like there is much extra room for sound and nav upgrades. Can a better system from a newer model be put in my 4R?

I was thinking a system from a similar Lexus model or a newer or better 4R may be the way to go.

I remember doing an upgrade on my FZJ80 that made the window switches all work in the "one touch all the way up" mode. Anything like that work on the 4R?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Does your runner have JBL??? If so, you can get a newer unit (NAV) for your truck (new as in 2006-2009 NAV, not newer). If you don't have JBL, then you would have to get the JBL amp to make it work (expensive).

Most, (Unless you MUST have OEM equipment) will say get an aftermarket NAV. Less hassle, less expensive and way more features.

I can't comment on the ALL AUTO switch, I think I saw that it can not be done.

Personally if you're gonna go with a all in one head unit get a modern aftermarket one and get it properly installed, most factory head units seem to be behind the aftermarket units in the technology department.

As for the window switches, Toyot went away from its older designs which you just had to take apart the switch and add couple extra pins. The 4th gen window switches use a slider mechanism that I haven't figured out how to convert over. I have been waiting for a used GX470 to take the master switch out of and see if it works in the 4th gen socket.
