Source of info for Off-roading trails (near Seattle)

Does anyone have any good sources of information where I can find some decent trails near Seattle for off-roading?

Websites, groups, etc?

google earth is GOLD. do some looking around and you wont be dissappointed.

Alot of the smaller trails around the eastside have been gated off in the last few years. But if you got a lift, Riter Pit is the best place I know of. Its on the way up to Steven's Pass. If you go there I would reccomend going with someone who knows the trails, they can become very advanced very quickly with no way to turn around. I am from the eastside and always looking for more trails that you dont have to have a lift to go on and that dont have sticker bushes on them.

Thanks Dheeter, but unfortunately my rig is stock so I dont have a lift. Given that, where's a good place to go w/o a lift?

I explored I-90 this weekend and tried Tinkham Rd, but it was a little too snowy for me to get very far...

I've done parts of Reiter Trail (up by Gold Bar) and Evans Creek ORV Park (down by Buckley) in my pretty much stock '02 Sport. A little underside scrape here and there, but it handled the "easier" trails pretty well overall.

You definately want to be properly equipped and go with someone who knows the area -- the maps you find on-line don't necessarily reflect the true terrain out there.

These guys are always going out.

Off the top of my head the most popular are Evans Creek (South King by Enumclaw), Rieter (North end past highway 2), Elbe (North Pierce), and Tahuya by Bremerton.

Anyways, those are just a few of whats around.
