How about the rims, are those the same that were sold in the US?

Your rims are off of a US 03-05 Limited, or the 06-09 SR5s. This is the 06-09 Limited rim.

I think when they put "Limited" on the side, they were referring to the options haha. Minus the metrics, odm resets, and memory seats, the dash is identical to my SR5, (However, i WISH that my dash was half as shiny as this one). This is an interesting rig and the mystery behind it definitely adds a kind of "cuatro ruedas, the most interesting 4Runner alive" feel to it. Look forward to it being solved! Nobody is yet to figure out where or when my wheels came from! (anyone feel free to look in to that) Good Luck man!

My 08 limited has them (purely a U.S. car - I checked the carfax)

Which again circles this conversation back to .... is it a rebadged SR5 or is the limited badge used for diff. purposes in S. America.

It also has no diff lock so I'm assuming it's has a manual or electric-mechanical transfer case and ADD on the front axle. may not even have the ADD it may just be the old style of 4wd systems no AWD aloud on dry pavement.

also this limited is missing dual climate control, the A/C 115watt outlet, and I can't tell if it has the heated seats the pictures aren't showing the center console.

It doesn't have a gauge light dimmer switch either or the ODO/RESET buttons to the left of the gauge cluster. Also showing a manual trip reset button on the right gauge bezel.

This is one of the main differences. I will get a close up shot. I think it has something to do with the brakes. I realized this because I wanted to install a dual battery system and this definitely gets in the way...

i think that is a conventional ABS pump. since it does not have the electronic version this is what was used. if it has 4-5 small brake lines coming out of it than it is the ABS pump.

Interesting... the Non-US spec ones don't use the Hydraboost unit (the hydraulically assisted brake unit.) The box on the passenger side in the picture is the ABS pump/Solenoid Pack like you'd see on our other models that use a vacuum assisted brake booster.

OP, how do you dim your dash lights? Also how about a picture of the center console. Any switches there?

Could it be a mid-cycle refresh difference? 06-09 only?

That's a good point, seems like more of a step backwards tho. I like having an unobstructed instrument cluster with the ODO/RESET buttons off to the side, looks cleaner in my opinion.

I suppose it's not required since it doesn't have ATRAC etc. My Canadian spec has it. At least is gives a direct bolt on option for guys looking to get rid of the electronic aids or those who don't want to spend thousands on a new hydraboost unit.

Ok so i finally got arround to taking a few more pictures. From what I can see, it is more of an SR5 than a Limited with a few additional gadgets and a few differences.

To answer a few questions, I do have leather. Vehicle was built in Japan. I recently found out I dont have any sort of drivers aid (traction control, limited slip diffs, lockers or anything) and I have lots of empty spaces for accesories. }

I would want to know, if my brakes are in fact SR5, can I fit a 16 inch rim? If so, what measurments do those have to be... including backspacing and everything.

What OEM accesories do you guys have that may bolt on directly to my rig?

Here are a few more pics. One of what i believe to be the ABS module (where my 2nd battery was going to go!) and the other of my NO BUTTONS center console. I do have the 5 speed gearbox.

i was told its an 09 thing. they moved the rear window switch to right behind the 2 12volt outlets in the center console

The only different I spot there is the shift lock release. Looks like a button were as we have a little cover you remove and then stick a screwdriver in to release it. Could be something later models got tho.

Just so you know, mi ride has 77,000 kms or roughly 48,000 miles. Used as is and like I bought it a couple months back will set you back 35,500us dollars. That is the reason why I am into modding in a civilized manner. This needs to be my comfortable daily driver as well as my expedition type vehicle.

Any suggestions on the additional accessories you have that may be worth my time? I really want the 120v inverter with the stock look. Is that complicated?

As far as the rims, the rag top I mentioned has 33x12.5r15 mt tires which I would love to be able to swap to my 4th gen for trips. But 15 inch rims will not fit, that is why I was wondering about the measurements for the 16 inch rims.

Are you planning a lift? I as well as probably half the forum would suggest Billstein 5100's. They're height adjustable in the front and ride great, only slightly firmer than stock. If you want more lift you can pair them with coils. I guess it depends what you feel needs improving...but here's my thoughts on the accessories I have. If your looking to protect your investment, a set of WeatherTech digital fit floor liners cover/protect the carpet really well.

I was happy after upgrading the stock radio, really made the speakers come alive. Also love my dual exhaust, makes it sound more like a truck and if you reroute the exhaust tip to the side (instead of coming out the back) it can help reduce the smell that comes in when accelerating with the rear window down

One other "cool" accessory that I don't have but would like is and Ultra Gauge (UltraGauge EM v1.2 [UltraGauge_EM_v1.2] - $69.95 : UltraGauge, OBD II Scan Tool & Information Center a small unit that you plug into you OBD2 port and can display a whole bunch of engine parameters that you normally wouldn't see. There's other similar units out there also.

As for the power inverter, I just did a quick search, looks like it would be expensive to collect all the OEM parts and install it BUT I do believe it's possible at least on US spec models. You could always look behind the switch blanks left of the steering wheel to see if the harness for the switch is there. A cheaper and more popular option is to buy an aftermarket inverter and hard wire it in.

The standard 4th gen brakes use a 319mm diameter rotor. The upgraded brakes found on Sport and some Limited models use a 338mm rotor.
