Any issues with the install or parts?

Not really. Having an extra set of hands would have made it much smoother. When putting on the crossmembers I used a piece of 2x4 to rest it on so that the screw angle was closer. Ohhhhh I also put a moving blanket on the roof so I didn’t scratch anything.
Most everything fit perfectly flush instantly. A few things took a little wiggling to get in proper place but nothing difficult at all.

Agree. Honestly, I can't understand why it doesn't ship with black bolts (and black crossbars for that matter).

For 5th Gen T4R: the rack comes with 7+1 cross bars
Screws size: 1/4x20
Screw count:
- 7 10x30 cross bars - 6 screws/bar: 42
- 1 10x20 cross bar (for rear shark fin antenna_ - 4 screws/bar: 4
- 2 front rail rubber legs - 2 screws/leg: 4
- 1 windscreen: 10
Total screws: 60

Agree. Honestly, I can't understand why it doesn't ship with black bolts (and black crossbars for that matter).

I don't see how a powder coat would work well on the crossbars. The slot for bolting accessories would get filled with that and then the sizing would be off. Maybe an anodized finish would work. In any event, sliding gear around on it a few years would likely result in bare aluminum showing through in places. I doubt that would look very good either. I like the look of the stainless bolts on the sides to break up the black. From most vehicles, only the very back bar is visible. Maybe if just that bar was anodized or finished in bed liner....or even sprayed black enamel. The bar color doesn't bother me at all.

Its an eye bolt with a 5/16" female thread. Theres a 5/16" carriage bolt in the slots that it threads onto. Im pretty sure SSO keeps them in stock.

Does it come that way or did you have to request it? I don't have the sharkfin and prefer it to be the three-slot bar.

Also, how many extra bars are required to completely cover the roof? I don't have a sunroof either. It appears that two would do it. But also the angled rear could fit a bar too possibly.

Was anyone able to replace the 2018 4R shark fin antenna with a low profile? I want to install a crossbar at the end of the rail, on the angled portion (the 10x30 bar does not fit (need 10x20)

Just finished installing mine. I really like the quality of the machining on it and am very impressed with the design.

After installing per the instructions, I was left with a roll of clear vinyl. I couldn't figure out what it was for until reading this forum and seeing that it was included to protect the paint where the wind faring rests.

So my question is: is it really necessary? If it is, will I be able to install it if I pull the faring off but leave the side rails fully tightened? I put a good layer of silicone in the thread holes and torqued the bolts very tight. I'm worried about getting all the silicone out to get a good seal on a reseat and would rather leave the side rails fully tightened. If I do that, will I be able to get the faring reinstalled?

Clear vinyl? I was thinking that it should have been included as the windscreen's rubber that touches the roof rubs against the paint.
Can you post pic of the vinyl?

You should be able to take off the wind fairing by removing the 2 screws from each side rail, install the vinyl and reinstall the wind fairing.

The installation instructions were done before the clear vinyl was included in the kit. But yes, it should be a simple addition for those who got a piece of vinyl. :tape2:
