We purchased our 4th gen used without a spare key or alarm fob, so I had my first mission. Thanks to this forum I got er done for about 20 bucks: a spare transponster (Friends anyone?) key and a spare Viper alarm fob.
Sidenote- I thought it was just an alarm/keyless entry until one night I was leaning on the fob in my pocket and I heard the 4Runner start in my garage. My wife and I both got the deer-in-the-headlights look, thinking someone had broken in to the garage.

Found the spare Viper fob on ebay (about $10 cheaper than amazon) matching the information on the back of the original. The 800 number on the back provided the programming instruction via their automated message.
FWIW, Best Buy wanted $20 just to program the fob. It literally took 10 seconds to program.
