Tried my 285/70r17 Falken in spare location. V8 with tow package. Aired it down to 26psi to keep the TPMS off, but it’s touching the panhard bar. Is this going to cause issues? Don’t want to compromise the panhard bar.

I have this also. I read that it is better to keep a worn spare to give more room. Also if you let the air out of it it will help, but then your TPMS light will go on. Best thing to do a 5 tire rotation, over time the spare will be worn more and then it wont rub. Then you can keep that worn tire as a spare moving forward.

Do you have factory wheels? Or wider aftermarket.
When I had 17" FJ wheels, it would rub with BFG 285/70r17" a/t's. With the wider method wheels (8.5") the tire is not as tall so it clears by about 5/16"!

I had a problem with the spare touching the panhard bar after I went with 255's as well. My solution was to cut this bracket off:
Then weld in a piece of flat strap higher that would still keep the spare tire off the charcoal canister but would allow the spare to sit more in between the rear most cross member (tow hitch) and the cross member above the rear axle. The trick is to hoist the spare tire up flat then inflate while in place. The spare tire still drops out easily when needed. With the spare tire basically wedged between the two cross members, the front cross member keeps the spare off the panhard bar.
