Spark Plug Questions

I've got an 03 Sport with approx 110K miles on it. So far as I know, it has never had the spark plugs replaced. Thanks to the forums I decided to stick with either NGK or Denso and, after going to several parts places, ended up with a set of Denso Platinum TTs. However, after checkinig the owner's manual, it says that I should only use Iridium (sp?) plugs in the car.

So ... will I have any problems running the Platinum TTs until I can afford to get something better (I'm unemployed right now)? Also, these TTs are gapped at .40 ... is that the correct gap?

Most of the DIY plug changes here have taken place using the regular Desno plugs from the dealer. Thats what I used. New plugs from the dealer (pre-gapped to .40) were like $25 for 6. The install cost me 40 minutes and two Coronas+ 2 Lime slices beer...You can tell if the plugs are the originals if the driver's side are all Denso and the passenger side are all NGK (or it might be the other way, i forgot), either way most if not all who have changed their plugs have gone to all one type and most have gone all Denso. (BTW: this is for the V6.)

Thanks everyone. I returned the plugs and picked up new plugs from the dealer. I appreciate the info!
