spark plugs

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. The question is what plugs are the best. It's for my wifes truck 96 4runner w/ 2.7 engine. I want to just replace them with the oe plug, but she wants to get some fancy ones. What do you guys run ?

Dual prong Ngk or oem Toyota denso (that's what I got and they're awesome).

Don't waste your money on fancy aftermarket "hi performance" plugs. Just go with Denso or NGK dual ground plugs. They will be just fine.

Thanks for the replys, I'm gonna keep it simple and stick with the ome plugs' I drive a jeep xj but I'm very pleased with how well built these 4runners are built.

Hello, just throwing in my 2¢.

I currently have the dual electrode NGK Iridium plugs.
OEM are perfectly fine but I don't like giving my dealer money
Or waiting for my parts to ship from an online OEM wholesaler.

Just make sure, no matter what plugs you get, to gap them.
With your 2.7L 4-banger, ensure you get a gapping tool from your local auto parts store.
I believe your plugs should be around: .031 inch gap.

NGK are just as OEM as the Densos. The trucks were built with three of each at the factory and both the NGK's and the Densos are listed in the FSM. Just because North American Toyota dealers sell the Densos does not make them any more OEM than the NGK's.

I've run the NGK since the first change at 30k and they are fine.

Hell yeah. NGK knows their shit. I would almost trust them more than the dinks in Japan.
