Spark plugs

Alright it's tune up time. I got my red top installed thursday and i'm going to do plugs and wires/coil packs tomorrow.

My question.
I was installing my battery and noticed this sticker on my timing cover.
I was thinking of getting NGK iridium plugs until I saw this sticker.
I was thinking it might have something to do with pointing your spark plug gap toward the intake ports...
Any comments? Are the plugs required? Would bosch 4 electrode be better? or
Should I get the NGK iridium?

I seem to learn alot of things by just jumping in. It works for me, maybe not for some people, but for me it does.
I'd start by removing the seat from the vehicle completely. Unplug the controls and remove the 4 bolts at ea. 4 corners of the floor bracket. It'll probably be much easier to work with outside the vehicle.

But in any case, standard duel electrode NGK or Denso plugs are cheap enough so that we don't have to worry about paying big dollars to get longer lasting iridiums. There are too many reports of people having problems because they wanted to try different spark plugs. Stick with what we know works. Dual electrode NGK or Densos.

Something as technical as a correct spark plug is worthy of asking. It's not a field that your average joe is knowledgeable On the other hand asking how to remove a seat from the vehicle is kinda of a dumb a** question when you can simply look and see for yourself how to remove it.
The second quote you used of me is a usage of humor, take it lightly. By take it lightly i mean, to you only, go to hell.
and the third one, well, it was late i was tired. I was referring to spark plugs with single electrodes and how you can use shims to get the final turn when tightening the plug to make the gap point towards the intake ports. By the way, don't be so critical of spelling. This is an internet forum, not a thesis for a midterm.
And finally a question for you.
How can you sleep at night while having your location saying something canadian?

It's just too bad that we can't have any more people like you on here providing brilliant insight in the world of truck repairs.

As far as correct sparkplugs to use, Toyota is quite clear when they specify to use dual electrode plugs. If you look really close in the FSM, they even give you part numbers for both the Denso's and the NGK's.

PS. Your bitterness is amusing. Don't be offended by Canadians just because our country has less crime, less enemies, and less hurricanes and tornadoes. Cheers :beer:

But to answer the question - I asked my Yota-obsessed-nerd-friend the same question - he swears by OEM plugs. He can't figure out what exactly it is - but after using BOSCH, NGK, and other aftermarket plugs - none of them out-lasted or outperformed the OE inginuity

OK... why don't we go back to the basics of your question. Why don't you want to use the OEM recommended plugs? Have you been having problems with your engine? Misfires? Rough Idle?
 
yes, use only the denso factory plugs. p# 90919-01192. they are roughly $2-3 a plug @ the dealer. 9 out of 10 times, when a 3.4 comes in the the shop (actually any toyota that requires a twin electrode plug) for a misfire code, guess what....non o.e. plugs. there may be a toyota option for the platinum twin electrode, but no performance increase for 3 times the money per plug. only advantage is the 60K mile plug life. changing to a different plug will do very little unless you have some kind of forced induction (i.e. s/c or turbo), then it becomes a heat range issue.

I notices that when I had my celica. Spark plug wires from autozone would last only a few months. I went to the dealer, got the oem wires and they lasted until i sold the car, about 2 years.

P.S. Why does every canadian have something to say about bush when their own socialist government has been f-ing them in the a** since 1867.

Border problem=cheap labor ;):

OK... my honest opinion is that you've got serious issues. I am glad, however, that you are finally satisfied with the answer that us "incompetent" Canadians have been giving you for the past week.
 
It's not just your opinion, yes I have serious issues, issues with a person that replies to a post with a smart ass comment, and doesn't stop. I did not take your advice, not just because you are canadian but because you are a jackass. I had my mind made up before I posted this. I simply wanted to see what anyone had to say about this subject. Now if you would please quit being that annoying pimple on my butt and let me ask and answer legitimate questions in a polite way, without the use of dry scarcasm, I would appreciate that.
