Sparkplugs

This topic may have been beaten to death but I want to be 100 percent sure.
I've collected that NGK and DENSO are the plugs to get and that's what I want and I'm leaning to NGK. I've read that the V8 engine has one side with NGK and the other with DENSO.

Would it be fine to just get the NGK's for both sides?

My 4runner is a 2005 SR5 V8.

Yes, perfectly fine to use NGK for both sides for consistency. You dont want one side to have greater spark etc.

I know Toyota rolled them out with one side NGK and one side Denso, but if you talk to any Toyota Dealers (service), they will say just go with one, either Denso or NGK but dont mix them.

I think Toyota mixed them maybe because they were under some contract to fullfil for both manufactures.

In any case, yes, same brand for both sides. Also, NGK and Denso may be more similar when it was factor installed. As years go by the two different brands may be so different in spark that you wont get a smooth running engine if one side is differernt brand.

I agree. I just changed mine out 2 days ago but used all Denso plugs. You cant go wrong with either.

I think it states the plug specs in the owners manual.
Just go to the dealer and buy denzos, i think i paid about 22 bucks for my v6!
