SPC or Icon UCA?

Have you looked into JBA Offroad? They make UCAs for the 4th/5th gens. Their current model seems to have positive reviews and guys are getting 3+ on caster. You can service/swap out the balljoint without taking off the control arm. Their customer service is great too. Their first run of UCAs in early 2015 did have problems with Tacomas but it was addressed quickly by the owner of JBA.

I wanted balljoint UCAs so I was on the fence between JBA, SPC, or Camburg. I've read Camburg's CS being pretty non-existent. Their BJ UCA's net barely any positive caster over OEM, and you will need to remove the UCA to press in new balljoints.

LR/SPC UCAs are made in China and have spotty reviews on various forums. Some have had horrid experiences with them while others have nothing but raving reviews. It's a toss.

I think the SPC UCA's I received a few weeks ago said "Made in Spain". Maybe it was another part, I don't know, I've received about 40 different parts the past few weeks.

SPC's seem alright to me but I've been using OEM UCA's on Tacomas, Tundras, no experience with aftermarket.

I did research and saw SPC had problems until 2016 when they updated the bushings and washers, added a grease zerk. Well, they're on the truck now so hopefully I installed them correctly and we'll see how it works out.

Weirdly, that eBay link doesn’t mention anything about additional caster over stock. It just makes them seem like stock replacements. Were you able to get more caster with them? I’m going to be in the market for some UCAs when I finish my lift so I’ve been trying to find some decently priced ones for mainly street use.

I have the JBA UCA's and they have been flawless.

For the price you really can't beat them.

I'm currently at 4.5 degrees positive caster with no problems.

I’m going to be in the market for some UCAs when I finish my lift so I’ve been trying to find some decently priced ones for mainly street use.

My used SPC that are in great shape will be for sale shortly. Throwing some Icon's on to match the rest of my suspension and in anticipation of some harder wheeling. Mine have the zerk fitting on the joint. Greased the inner bushings when I installed and never had a squeak or issue with them. Hit me up on PM if interested.

I ran SPC’s in my 08 FJC and wheeled it hard. Never an issue. Just finished putting a set on the 4Runner last night. Didn’t give it a second thought when I ordered them.

They have the exact same specs as the name brands that they're modeled after. Just missing the name brand and the mark up. So yes, caster is improved etc.

I'm glad some of ya'll are having good luck with SPC. When I was trying to find arms was during the time SPC was junk (2015ish?) so I avoid them now. The options on ebay are beefier IMO.

The only person I've seen have issues with the ebay arms was some guy who put them on the wrong side of his truck, or upside down, maybe both, IDK hahaha.

ooookay… But Ebay is just a marketplace. Its up to you as a buyer to do your due diligence on a product you buy. How is it eBay's fault you bought junk. That's like you buying moldy Cool Ranch Doritos from your local grocery store and blaming the store.

I mean, this has been hashed out at great length on this forum. In the very beginning one person got bushing sleeves that were too short and the seller replaced them.
No other user that i'm aware of has posted having an issue. Ever.

SPC is made in China... just like most other brands, and they're available on ebay, so how are they different exactly? Hell, they're probably ALL made in the same factory by 11 year olds lol.

I don't understand the difference... It's your truck, and I don't really care. But your logic is curious to me.
