Speaker suggestions

So my son tried to test out the volume on my 05 and apparently blew one of my rear panel speakers. I’m wondering if it’s possible to get the same speaker from Toyota or if I just need to replace them with after market. I love the JBL system in there and had one stereo salesmen tell me not to ever “upgrade” my speakers because I would never get as good of sound as I have with the factory speakers?

Literally any 6.5" speaker will work back there. If all you want to do is swap out blown speakers, look at the JBL GTO series 6.5"s on ebay. You'll need an adaptor plate as well as a wiring adaptor if you want it to be plug and play. You'll replace the pair not just one. I'm sure you could buy an original from Toyota but it would cost more than a pair of new aftermarket speakers.

You can probably upgrade all of your speakers for the price the dealer charges for one. Is it the door panel, or the one by the hatch door?

I've always used crutchfield for buying speakers. They have a guide that will tell you what will fit.

Crutchfield

I used Crutchfield for my 07 Accord. They were great. Easy to buy from.

Personally, not that you asked, but I bought Rockford Fosgate rear deck (coupe) and door speakers (6.5's and tweeters) and they were AMAZING. For the price I went with their top level speakers and they exceeded my expectations. They were great. They were also plug and play.
