Speakers sizes? How big of amp fits under seat?

I'm going to replace my JBL system with components in the front doors and co-axials in the rear doors.

Crutchfield says 6.5" won't fit in the front doors- I know I need 6x9 to 6.5 adaptors, but is there a mounting depth issue?

I was going to go with focal polyglass front and cheaper v1's in the rear. Or do they need to be matched?

What size amp will fit under seats?

My 6.5s fit fine up there, I personally matched mine and have mb quart discus 6.5 components front and rear (with the tweeters mounted in the grill on the back ones). I don't know if it matters if they match though, I've just always liked for my front & rear speakers to match so I dunno how it sounds any other way.

I have JL j2 360.4 pushing those and it is about 16 x 10" I don't think you could go too much bigger under the seat. I also had to remove the rear floor vents

edit: the amp is as far forward as you can mount it due to the wiring and a ridge in the floor. If a girl is driving and the seat is way up the back of the amp would stick out if that little flap didn't hang up on it (keeping it from being exposed)

also my 6.5 components are about 4" deep.

Looks like JL's 5 channel is only 10x7, that should fit fine under the passenger seat. Then a 8W1 in the factory location and a set of components.

No need to match front and rear, it's all personal preference. You shouldn't have any mounting depth issues with 6.5's since most of the magnets are smaller/shorter than 6x9's mounting depths.

Make some rings, make the adapter ring 3/4" thick, then screw on another 1/2" round ring to it to make more depth, what polyglass are u geting, got to a local shop for focal, cheaper than crutchfield, I am to put in 165k2p in the front with this method. If u going with jl amp, I'm able to fit 300/2 under the front seats. Ever thought of Rockford fosgate amp? I think they fit, punch and power series are bang for the buck.
