Spectre Intake kit #9002

Good reading. But, like i stated in my original post. The sound alone was worth the cost.
As far as mileage goes. Hot air, cold air, air density or whatever, it has increased from in town average from 18.3 to 19.8.
So throwing perceived or actual performance out the door, worth it to me personally for the sound and mileage increase.
So, to each his own.
Besides, at $135 it was worth it. I have pissed away alot more $$$ than that on one night out. And, it looks better than the factory setup.

The very powerful 2013 and 2014 Shelby GT500's have a factory air filter very similar to the spectre that some say does not work , it's using hot air from under the hood.

Sure but do you see the tube to the left of the filter that pulls ambient air from outside as the car is driving which will be a lot cooler than what's under the hood of the car

This intakes from the air dam behind the headlight and from under the front bumper valance. It seals the engine bay off from the intake and uses ABS not aluminum to deliver the air to the blower.

this may look similar to the spectre one, but they are in fact miles apart and so very different. Also worth mention, when you are compressing the air into the engine (SC or turbo) the air density dynamics change, a slight increase in PSI can more than make up for a slight loss in air density.

At 150 degrees with 10psi of boost, the air density 80% more dense than 0psi (non boosted) air at the same temperature.

Forget about the hot air, more exposure to water. Hello, 4Runner off road? Semi flood areas? Splashing water? Or is this 4Runner only track ready? I'm trying to be funny not an ass lol
