Hey all,

prior to owning my 5th Gen I had a 93 cruiser and spent a ton of time on ih8mud.com but never got around to starting a build thread. I found myself starting a new thread every week for something I was doing. SO, I figure I'll stop that before it begins here and just start off with one thread that will contain all things related to my 5th gen.

And here it is!

Toytec 3" lift with Bilstein 5100 Shocks and 2" Icon Heavy Rear Springs
Total Chaos UCAs
285/70R17 Toyo Open Country AT2s

That's it for the mods. All done by the previous owner. I plan on doing a lot more in the future, but it will probably be a few months at least before I get things going and it will be a pretty slow build. With that being said though, every mod will be good :eyebrows:

Love the shoreline blue pearl. The pre-2014 5th Gen Trail is my favorite. Looks great!

Nothing crazy. I had my buddy spot me on the hairy stuff but he got some videos of the more exciting, obstacle-free, sections of the trail.

I too am partial to the Shoreline Blue. Looks great dirty and fantastic washed/waxed. Looking forward to see where you take your build next. There is so much inspiration in this site. Just when you thought every avenue has been explorered someone comes up with anothr great, original mod.

I'm with you on the color. I would have went with the dark metal grey or shoreline blue....:crybaby:

Unfortunately when I was looking in 2011, this was the only one I could find within reasonable driving distance.

Glad it's no longer offered, making it even more rare. In my area, I've only seen the SB in Limited trim.

I understand, my GF HAD to have Mag Grey. I actually wanted silver (or white but that didn't come on the trail) because I like the contrast of the black fender guards on it. Anyways, 2 days after we get our 4Runner, we see a Shoreline Trail at the grocery store. I pointed it out and all my GF said was "yeah, I probably would have gotten that instead..." Dammit woman! lol anyways I cant complain too much, she actually likes the lever style 4wd engagement. Never would have guessed that...

Thanks for the compliments, all. When I first started looking I really liked the silver. I wasn't even really aware of the shoreline blue. When I started throwing around the idea of selling the landcruiser I thought "I'd only do that if I could get a trail edition 4runner". Looked on craigslist and there she was. Done. Got a great deal on it too.

And yes, that is a whip flag mad out of a fishing rod, orange t-shirt, duct tape, and zip ties :bounce:
