Spenedwrds build #3

Gauges are in.
Exhaust is on.
Wastegate installed.
FMU installed.
Scavenge pump mounted and lines installed.
Catch can for pcv installed.
Intercooler mounted and most of the plumbing is done. Just have to run from the turbo to intercooler.
Next is to install BOV and figure out where to wire my oil pump to. Thought about just tapping off the fuel pump feed on top of the gas tank? Any suggestions?

I got it running a while back I forgot to post on here. I hit 8lbs at one point and it was starving for more fuel. Next is injectors, fuel pump and hopefully a piggyback so I can tune it. Even with stock injectors, just running colder plugs and premium fuel the power is very noticeable.

Intercooler fit perfect behind the grill. It's barley visible

hey look your alive lol

been waiting on a update

how much power were you able to make already

I couldn't tell you exact numbers. I haven't had it dynod yet. The guy that had the kit before me said that he got close to 305 hp. I'm not sure how close I am as I have a different turbo than he did. But I'd say I'm close. The power is very noticeable

Been stalking this build for a little over a year before making an account and that is one mean looking T4R, I love the projector retrofit/grill combo. Keep us posted on the HP of that turbo

gotcha well cant wait to see when you get it on a dyno to see the hp gains

Valve cover gaskets, half moons, cam plugs, and injectors are in process. Taking it slow and give the whole engine bay a good cleaning. Hopefully I can actually drive this thing with the turbo without some kind of leak. Next will be a walbro fuel pump.

I can't get these valve covers to stop leaking for anything. I've changed the gaskets, even put some of the grey sealant on them? Drops straight to the exhaust and smokes like crazy? I'm so tired of it. I can't even drive the thing. Anyone have any advice or ideas?

Had to read back a bit... You are boosted? If so, maybe you are getting excessive blow-by and pressurizing the crankcase.

Also, did you use OEM gaskets?

Could be. But it does it at idle. I haven't even got it out of the garage cause it smokes so bad. Hopefully that's not meaning bigger problems ha

Is it smoking because there was left over oil on exhaust components or is it coming out of the exhaust

At first it was. Think I narrowed it down to a cracked valve cover. I guess I'll have to tear it down for the 4th time to change those guys out. Anyone know where to get new valve covers cheap? 120 a piece is what I've seen so far

Looks like the 'rock has Dorman covers for $124, you can get OEM from Amayana for $114. Not sure what Camelback, etc. would have them for...

RH: 11201-62040
LH: 11202-62050

Nice build BTW!

Nice job with the retrofits. I've got to say, your truck is looking a lot more like a Decepticon than an Autobot. Don't let it rise up and kill us all.
