Spidertrax and Snaptint.com installed w/pics

The snaptint.com site says that you only need to remove the weatherproofing, not the entire door panel.

How much harder would it be to install the tint without removing the door panel?

Beanz - it definitely sounds to me like the dealership tinted yours.

snaptint makes tinting easier and saves a ton of time...the rules of tinting still apply...I have done quite of bit of tinting in my time, this just made it easier....you wont get it right the first time, so order 2!! there is a website, tint dude or something, I dont recall, that gives some serious insight to tinting...good luck, remove the door panels (there is a pdf on this site somewhere) and dont be afraid to try it...follow the instructions...

Are you sure the tint is in the glass? I kinda slung off my seatbelt a while back, in a hurry to get out of my truck, and it clipped my window damaging the tint a little. If I take my fingernail across it, it feels like I could peel it off. It even feels like a small piece is flaking off. There is a sticker on the window that says "DigiFilm installed by Souteast Toyota". I'm am going to call Toyota tomorrow to verify. I can't put tint over that chipped piece.
The Jaos Aura grille I got from Burtman's. It took about 2 to 3 months to get it from Japan. They don't make them untill you order it. When it arrived it was just primered white. It was $429 + $170 to paint and bake it to match the color of the truck. People are always asking me what kind of truck I have when they only see it from the front.

well it sounds like yours might already be tinted...mine was not though...

Yes, the front windows are tinted, but very lightly and they don't match the back windows tint. I thought all SE's were tinted like this. I guess it verys from the region where you bought it in. Yours looks goods with all the windows matching. Would having two windows tinted professionally be expensive?

They rub at full lock, i never experience it though unless i am trying, even pulling into parking spaces it never rubs. I can turn all the way left or right, feel it rub, and just let off a bit. I was very worried about the rubbing issue, turning and the clearence from upper arm and the inside of the tire, but its no major issue at all. I'm so glad i went with 285's. Thinkin about wheel spacers, just for looks , clearence issue isn't bad enough to need them. Here's a pic of T4R next to my other toy. F-350 , 7.3 Powerstroke with many mods.

That truck is a beast! I finally located some Spidertrax wheel spacers at Northridge 4x4 in Washington state. They mainly deal with Jeeps but they had the 6 on 5.5 1.25" that I needed on their shelf so I ordered them. Everybody else won't have any in until after April 11.
Yeh, I'm glad I went with the 285/70 myself. The 265/70 just look to small with a 3/2 lift.

So,you recommend buying two kits at almost $100 a pop since you are almost guaranteeing a mistake or two?

That's sounds iffy and I'd rather pay a pro to do it for a little more money and get a lifetime warranty that they will fix instead of worrying about it myself.

The kit looks nice if you can do it right the first time and your's looks good.

I had 35% on my 2 front windows, and took it back to have them change it to 20% last week. They charged me $40 per window, and an additional $25 for removal fees. So it ran me $105 total. This was for the best tint they had though, the one under it would have been $20-$30 less. It was $289 for all 7 windows when I initially tinted all of my windows, so buying 2 kits at $100 each seems odd to me. If you purchase 2 kits at $100 each because you anticipate errors, I'd rather pay the extra $89 to have it professionally done, and have the lifetime warranty which covers everything from discoloration, to cracks, even bubbles. $289 was their top tint, the one below it was $239.

whoa, easy guys...I was semi kidding on ordering 2 kits b/c I made a mistake on one of the 7 windows that I did...if you have the extra money, by all means, get it done by someone else...I've done some tinting in my day and enjoy doing it...so I did it myself.

Kidding? Well ok,since $100 is a deal and the kit is pre cut so that is really nice since I've seen too many kits that you had to do the cutting.

If my windows weren't already done I wouldn't be afraid to tackle the job.

I'm only doing to front roll-ups on mine, so I'll probably just order one kit and hope for the best. If I ordered two kits, that would offset any savings of doing it myself!

Any other recommendations on how to install the tint on a T4R besides removing the door panels? I've viewed the video's at snaptint.com and it *looks* pretty straightforward, but they could be making it look easy to sell more product...

35% on fronts, 20% everywhere else including Sunroof -$200 and only took 1hr.

It looks like the 35 on the front two had no impact on the window.

It looks that way in the photo compared to 20% over the darker factory tint. I think it was because there is a white object behind it. It doesn't look so clear in person but there is definitely a difference .....and in hind sight I might have gone 20% all the way around.

Why do you think I re-did mine like 7 times? It's never as dark as they say, so if you think 35% will be fine, go 20% because you will regret it. With 35% you can see inside the vehicle very easily even on overcast days, and on sunny days it barely looks tinted at all unless you are looking back at an angle from the front.
