Spidertrax spacer question

Im thinking about getting the spidertrax wheel spacers to kick my wheels out a bit. I figured itll make the truck more stable and makes it look bada$$. Just had a quick question though for anyone running stock wheels with these spacers.

Since the spacers set the tires outside the wheel well by a small amount, do you notice a ton of spray down the side of your 4runner's body? I had a Dodge Ram with 33" tires that stuck out a good 4" and whenever I drove through mud, snow, or rain, the side of the truck would get extremely dirty. Also, loose rocks stuck in the tire tread would fly off and hit my trucks body, scratchin it up. I didnt care much about how perrrty that stayed, but my 4runner I would like to keep scratch free and not look filthy from simply hittin a puddle.

What are your observations? I plan to keep a 265 wide tire on the stock rims. Also, are there other spacers that would keep the tires inside the wheel well? Thanks!

The spacers don't kick anything up onto the sides of the vehicle. They don't stick out nearly as much as most people think. After I put them on, it looked like it should have normally- flush with the body.

They do not extend past the body, unless you also have aftermarket wheels with backspacing. Don't think of them as pulling your wheels outside the body, think of them as correcting the nasty "negative" offsetting the wheels had before, where it looks like all of your wheels got sucked in.

This is my most recent pic, other than our most recent offroading trip

I think the spacers will look fine on a stock 4Runner. I think any improvement over stock is good. The wheel setting just doesn't look right while it's stock.

No because essentially you aren't doing much more than removing your tires and putting them back on.

I have my doubts about how easy it would be to put spidertrax on a stock rig. Even wish my 3ish inches of lift I had to relocate the inner fender so that it wouldn't rub.

As for kicking stuff up on the side, I personally think I get a little more dust, dirt and water on the side now, but I doubt they stick out far enough to kick up and rocks in a way that it will hit the side of your truck.

Thanks for your input everybody. I have a 2" lift in the front, stock is rear. Do you think I will have rubbing issues with stock tires? How about with 265/70R17's I'm planning on getting when my stock tires wear out? Thanks

Also, has anyone noticed a loss of gas mileage? I doubt it would but I know that rolling tires are a big source of air resistance.

Is there anywhere that sells a set of 4 for less than $200?
