Has anyone installed any SpiderTrax wheel spacers on a 2014/2015 TE or TRDP yet?

Any issues?

Do I need to get an alignment after?

If anyone has Photos, I would greatly appreciate!

there is nothing special about a 14, 15 or TRDP over say a 2005 4runner. Install them, torque in a star pattern and enjoy. No you don't need to align.

I would think that it would be just as straight forward as installing them on the 2010-2013.

I installed them on mine. Checked to make sure none of the nuts came loose after 100 miles and 500 miles. Just finished a 1,700 mile trip to NY while towing. No issues. They come with red loctite, use it.

An alignment is recommended after the install. I didn't, as I was getting ready to install my lift anyways, and that required an alignment.

I have not installed them on my 2015 Limited, however I have installed them on my Jeep Rubicon Limited, I have not had any problems with them, I torqued them down as specified, I took a note from other poster on the Jeep forums and use my wifes nail polish to mark bolts, I would just pull a wheel off and see if the bolts move in which they did not. I know there is concern with spacers as which there are people that freak out about them and inject fear, but they work great, off roaders have been using them for many years in extreme conditions with no problems. If anyone has a set of spacers on their limited as well if you could post pictures, I know there are some floating around on this forum but I haven't see a 2014 or 2015 with spacers.
 
The hubs are not significantly different between the J120 ('03-'09 4Runner, '07-'09 FJ Cruiser, '05-'09 Tacoma, and '03-'09 GX470) and J150 ('10+ 4Runner, '10+ Tacoma, '10-'14 FJ Cruiser, and '10-'16 GX460) platform vehicles.

So I wouldn't expect any issues with SpiderTrax, an alignment is recommended.

You will more than likely have significant rubbing after installing spacers, especially if you're running larger than stock size tires. Be prepared to do a body mount chop.

You also need to maintain them like any other aftermarket mod. I swap my own winter tires on and off, so when I put the winter tires on I check the torque on the spacers. In the spring when I take the winter tires off I take the spacers off, clean them up, put new loctite on the studs, and put them back on.
 
Added mine a couple weeks ago. These are 8" wide wheels with 4.5" back spacing. And it will force you to do the front fender mod. I had a very minor rub on the driver front before, but it was obvious on both corners after.

I put them on a 2005 without issue. I now run on 14 base TE and work great. As stated, some minor fender rubbing in reverse, but not going forward. I did install Bilstein 5100's raising the vehicle F/R leveling it. Also put urethane bushing on sway bar end-links seeing quicker sway bar response. All this makes for a solid ride. My TE is mostly a road queen, but does see some trail use. (All weekend scouting new hunting areas)

Also, know that years ago, ran spacers on a 72 Dodge Charger that I built with a small block motor at just over 400HP dyno'd. Lots heavy throttle launches with that car without any failures.

most people dial in the caster when they lift and/or install larger tires, but you shouldn't get rubbing with a stock tire size. Spacers should have no effect on the alignment however
 
No need for an alignment, however when I put mine on I did have to remove the front mud flaps and trim some of the fender lining b/c of rubbing. This is with no lift and stock size General Grabber AT2 tires. I don't have any pictures right now, but if youd like some I can get them tomorrow.
 
So is the sole purpose of these to give the 4Runner a more aggressive stance? If one were to use the stock wheels and tires, and do this mod just for looks, you bolt them on and go? Am I correct in assuming that? Damn this mod bug! :sick:

Those look great, What was involved with the fender mod?

In a word, yes. In my case I wanted the tires to push out a little more to match the fender flares.

The lower lip of the front fender needs to be trimmed for clearance (I cut mine with a box cutter), and the forward fender liner needs to be pushed forward about 1". Easy to do. Just remove 2 bolts, slip it forward and drill 2 more holes in it for the bolts. But I had to trim part of my mudflaps to clear them also. Some people just remove the mudflap. You just turn the wheel fully in each direction and mark where you need to trim.

Mind you I am still using factory size 265/70-17 tires on a slightly wider wheel and have a 2" front lift. If you mount a larger tire you will probably need to trim more. The top picture was taken before I added 1.25" more in height and the spacers. The bottom picture is after new springs and the wheel spacers. I know the angles don't exactly match, but there is a noticeable difference.

So let me ask this: why do the majority of people run spacers? Is it primarily for looks - to achieve a wider, more muscular look? It seems they don't do much other than exaggerate tire fitment issues with stock sized and larger tires, not make it better (due to the increased wheel travel arc).
I can't imagine a significant benefit off road. More stability perhaps?
Just curious. I do like the look sometimes, just curious if there is other motivation besides aesthetics.
