So let me ask this: why do the majority of people run spacers? Is it primarily for looks - to achieve a wider, more muscular look? It seems they don't do much other than exaggerate tire fitment issues with stock sized and larger tires, not make it better (due to the increased wheel travel arc).
I can't imagine a significant benefit off road. More stability perhaps?
Just curious. I do like the look sometimes, just curious if there is other motivation besides aesthetics.

When you lift the truck its going to pull the front wheels "in" some. The spacers will push them back "out". I could visibly tell the difference after putting my suspension on, then again after putting spacers on. I think it handles better too. I'm running stock size A/T3's with no fitment issues.

.....and yes, I like the way it looks now too.

I'm probably the only one, but I used the wheel spacers because I really liked the wheel that I chose. It happened to not come in the correct wheel offset/backspacing. I could technically run the wheels without them but at a +18mm offset in a 8" wide wheel, I didn't want to.

But widening the stance of any vehicle or even changing the tire to a wider tire can benefit from an alignment to adjust toe. A wider stance can exaggerate the toe angles. So even if factory specs limit toe to be -.02, the truck can benefit from having it closer to .0 or even .1 because of the wider stance.

And of course make sure that the alignment tech understands beforehand that your truck is no longer factory spec, so the alignment numbers within factory spec may not be the best for your vehicle. Some alignment techs have a lot of trouble breaking out of this mindset so it's best to talk to them about it first and make sure they're willing to align the truck for what it is and not what it was. Once you find that tech keep going back to them.

it widens the trac.... but yes people mainly do it for appearance or to run wheels of another bolt pattern.

I just had the 3" front and 2" rear ReadyLift leveling kit installed and added the 1.25" spidertrax spacers........stock size tire (265/70/17) and TRD Pro wheels on Nitto G2's...........major rubbing, especially in reverse. I hate to trim the plastic on the inner fender and front bumper, but I really like the stance/look.

No need for an alignment, however when I put mine on I did have to remove the front mud flaps and trim some of the fender lining b/c of rubbing. This is with no lift and stock size General Grabber AT2 tires. I don't have any pictures right now, but if youd like some I can get them tomorrow.

could you post a pic of your 4R with the spidertrax, no lift and the stock size tires? also could you comment on the fitment with this setup?

i have been searching but haven't found a pic of a 4R w stock suspension/tire size and spidertrax. found 1 guy who hasn't posted in a long time with bilstein shocks at 0.85 and spidertrax, looked really good.

These are the closest I have right now. I just installed coilovers this past Friday. Only raise about an inch. Stock wheels, tire size, with wheel spacers. Fitment is fine. With the stock tires they should be even better. With the more aggressive tire it rubbed the mud flap and the front wheel well lining.
