Spoiler removed, now what?

The models without the spoiler on it, has the 3rd light in the circled section above.

Glad someone posted the law about the 3rd light, my bulb went dead and haven't replaced it.

And a question to the board...has anyone tried to mount LED pods in the holes?? I was wondering if it'd look stupid or not.

The dealership didn't do a very good job installing a new spoiler when I bought mine. It recently had the rivets (I'm guessing) pulled out, maybe by the car wash. I've liked the look better without it, but I haven't figured out a way to plug the holes. I currently have some blue vinyl covering them, but the blue doesn't match and two already tore.

I know this is going to sound kinda nuts but once i rerouted the exhaust tip to the side behind the right side rear wheel and removed the sidesteps the spoiler had less of an effect on extending the horizontal lines of the truck body. Especially with any kind of rear lift...

Consider going to your local Lowes/Home Depot and look at rubber grommets

The spoiler keeps the rear window cleaner in a snowstorm or driving down dusty roads.

Since I posted on this thread in 2013 I’ll chime in. I removed my spoiler (with a bit of help from my garage door) a number of years ago. I prefer the look and added a light from a SR5 w/o a spoiler (stock part) It took a few minutes to remove the steel but it’s pretty obvious where you need to cut. The wires are right there, cut and splice. I used plastic plugs from Ace Hardware and some spot putty to fill the holes then painted with color matched paint. It does get a bit dirtier but not enough to bother me and I like the look much more than with the hump.

Best picture I have is this when I was installing a spoiler. There is one hole lower (circled red) and two holes on the upper part of the hatch one for a bolt and another for wires.

If you have a roof rack and a spoiler and you put something up there that extends past the rear hatch, you can not open it without hitting the spoiler.
