Sport Hood Questions

I have been informed of a potential sport hood donor in a rural Oklahoma self-service salvage yard and I have a couple questions that I couldn't seem to find answers for in the archives.

1. Is there any mechanical benefit to the sport hood whatsoever or is it pretty much just a styling/cosmetic thing?

2. What is the current going market rate for one of these sport hoods?

I honestly have no idea. I was just told by a friend who had gone there to get Ford parts that the vehicle was present. It also may have a supercharger kit on it but my friend didn't get any usable pictures of that. He got a great pic of his finger instead and didn't realize it until after he'd left. No idea on pricing as this yard doesn't have a strict price list like some; I do not want to call them and alert them that they have something special so it can disappear before I get there. In person price quoting tends to be much lower, too.
