Sport interior cloth... why "light" grey? carpet protection?

I love the interior of my sport, I'm a huge fan of grey, both light and charcoal. But I hate my floor carpet being light grey. I had that in my jeep and it is very easily stained, matted with dirt, etc.

Any recommendations about what I can put on the carpet to protect it better and keep the original color from staining so easily? Something I can pick up at Pepboyz or some place like that?

The all season floor mats should help. Incidentally, I visited a Honda dealership showroom today while waiting for oil chg on a Odyssey. They've a Element with some kinda plastic / vinyl flooring that should be very easy to clean, rinse, mop ...
You should be able to get your carpet replaced by that sorta material.

i've noticed the same thing

those floormats are not very tough on dirt.
I use energine brand dry cleaning fluid which generally gets out anything. Wish i had known this is what i was getting in the optional floor mat kit and i would've pushed for something else.

Followup: I was so upset by the light grey in my jeep that I ripped out all the rugs and painted Herculiner (bedliner) all over the inside of the tub. Not very comfortable, but easy to clean... er... hose out.

Anyway, the stock floormats are the same light grey material. No help there.... the aftermarket mudcatchers work in the slushy winter months, but they aren't very comfortable either. I was hoping there was some Stainmaster or staindefender stuff that might work on the factory rugs, since even with floormats, the rugs WILL get dirty quickly.

I'd say get the all weather mats. I have had them since x-mas and am very happy with them. When they get dirty all i have to do is pull them out and hose them off. I thought i was just gonna use them in the winter at first but i think i will keep them in year round now.

Atomic, I picked up some small black mats from Target and put them on top of my front mats. They have carpet on one side and rubber ridges on the other and are just the right size for my feet. Cost about $5 each, so they are basically disposable when they get too far gone.

Get yourself a couple of cans of Scotchgard for Autos (I think you can get it from Walmart but its available from a lot of places in the US I believe. ) You can treat both the carpets and the seats with it - it does wear off over time so you may want to reapply at some stage - but it does stop spills from soaking in (assuming you catch them fairly quickly) - you will still have to vacuum but it will protect better than having nothing on there.

I bought the all-seasons fairly early on - they are easy to wash - and others have posted here that if you get an enduring odor in the car its usually something that has transferred in on to the mats - so worth having washable ones.
