Spring Question

* Tried searching but could not find what I was looking for.

I did see this thread http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/157128-ome-890-891-a.html only thing with that, is that I am not looking for a 3" lift as that would make my 4runner to tall for my garage.

I am trying to find a good set of front/rear springs to equal out extra weight in the front and rear. This is for a 1998 Limited on factory spec suspension.

Not really looking for a lift, but a minimal one should be fine. I have the extra weight of the ARB bumper and winch with steel line in it for the front, but the man place I am noticing the sag is in the rear where there is easily 300lbs of extra weight (wooden drawers and gear inside).

Someone in another thread mentioned 1999 springs?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

OME 906 springs would give you 2" lift and hold extra weight. The 1999 springs are around 1" taller than stock 4runner springs but may sag a bit under that much weight. Then again you seem to have lots of weight up front already so it may even out.

If you want to handle the weight your going to have to get lift. Run the springs without any spacers and you will get 2-3" lift. Most garages will still let you fit with the lift unless you have a huge roof rack. With tires, suspension and body lift im sitting at about 8" total lift in the rear and still fit in my very small 1 car garage.

906's are the only spring available for the rear that handles weight without much lift. I have them and highly recommend.

As last post says 906s would probably be your best option. Theyre a relatively small lift, and designed to hold a little extra weight. Perfect for your situation.

890s are slightly softer than 906s, but they arent that soft. I have them on my truck now and with a few hundred lbs in the back they dont sag. So you might be cutting it close with 890s. They lift between 2.5" and 3".

Right so, 906 is the way to go. So would it be right to assume 906s on all four corners?

Fronts are different. Mine is still stock up front so I can't speak from experience, but with the extra weight from the bumper and winch I'm guessing most will recommend 881's if you stay with OME. Maybe 880's. Everyone uses OME springs for lift, but what they are really designed for is to handle weight. I found the info here to be helpful.

There are more options for the front compared to what's available for the rear though. This thread will give you some ideas.
