I did a quick search on this but didn't find a answer
What springs will work best with a cbi rear bumper?
I have Toyotec super flex right now but I was considering the metal tech fj extended travel rear springs or all pro 3" or ome but which one
Thanks again

Do you know what the final weight of your bumper and accessories will be? That would be the best place to start... match the load capacity of the coils to your new rear end weight and don't forget about that antenna!

I know that the OME rear coils are something close to +110 lbs (Medium) and +330 lbs (Heavy), but don't know the capacity of the others. Knowing the spring rates of all of the options would help... I'll look to see if I can find some more info.

I wouldn't think that a 10% increase is enough for that much weight. consider your final configuration...
> Bumper = 190 lbs
> Spare tire = 50 lbs
> your sub = 15 lbs
> off-road gear = 100 lbs
> etc.

That comes out to 355 lbs! That, of course, would be your heavy load (all loaded for an off-road adventure) and you probably won't drive around with that all of the time... closer to 250 lbs for everyday use so I think that finding a balance is the key. You should talk to Javelin or Dawg4Runner regarding their set-ups... they're running CBI rears and are pretty active on the forum.

I didn't figure the spare since its already on the truck just relocated right? Or is it more weight hanging off the back
And don't forget the 20' antenna lol

Superflex coils will not hold the weight of the bumper and gear. My coils sag a ton when we go on a camping trip, I couldnt imagine a steel bumper, tire, Jerry cans and gear. Check out all pro 3.5's. They give some rake but settle nicely when loaded. Also check out Jediwebdude's rig, he has a CBI and all pro 3.5's.

Well I'm still researching this but I can't find anything on the metal tec springs.
I did find one of my rear shocks started to leak so I had it warranted out but the rear feels to soft for me although the ride is nice
So anyone running the metal tec springs?
I am interested in them for the 27" travel
