Springtime in Anza-Borrego

Following the recent death of my brother and sister-in-law, last week my friend John came down from WA for a visit. John was best man at both my wedding and my brother's. We decided to take couple days to go camping in the desert, reminisce, and commiserate.

The desert was still in bloom, with brilliant flowers everywhere. It was very peaceful, beautiful and soothing. We got to do some off-roading too! (First time with my brand new 4Runner.) Here are some photos:
