We were skeptical of the Sprint Booster right up until we actually installed it. We thought, like many of you, if you want more power just push down farther. WE WERE DEAD WRONG! This thing has the ability to totally change the throttle response and activation curve! Our 4Runner feels and drives like it should now!

Awesome. Yep, many are skeptical. I spend hours a week with phone calls from people that can't wrap their head around it and how it could work. Some call me back after they install saying they shouldn't have waited so long Thanks for taking the time to do the vid.

Newbie here, just got the 5th gen not long ago and was not use to the lag and started doing some research and led me to the sprint booster vs pedal commander. Saw this post and followed it for a while and jumped on the opportunity and sure enough Jason shipped it as soon as he said he would, I am out in CA and we get porch pirates where I live so I have anything send via UPS routed to the nearest UPS store and it still look like I’ll be getting it tomorrow~ Can’t wait, thanks!

Had some time to install my Sprint Booster tonight.

I removed the two 10mm nuts to lift up the pedal to get a better grip on the connector. You probably don't need to do this, but it makes it easier. I had the tools so I just did it.

Snaking the wire around without taking the dash apart took a little time as I didn't want the wire in the way of my big feet.

I settled on cutting a groove on one switch panel for the wire and attaching the controller to the switch panel just above it with a 3/4 inch velcro dot pair. 1/2 inch dot might fit better, but that's what I had on hand.

I felt it would be the easiest way to install it without a lot of bending strain on the wire. (I could be mistaken about that.)

Had to grind a small channel in the dash above the switch panel too because it pinched when you press the panel back in. I should have gone deeper into the switch panel with the notch. The wire actually hides the channel so it's good until I rewire everything someday.

All easily done with a Dremel tool. I'm sloppy so I got a few nicks here and there. Luckily nicks don't bother me too much. Go slow and try to minimize that kind of thing.

Fired it up and all worked well. Race 5 (default) is sweet. Sport 5 (default) didn't do much for me, so I punched it up to Sport 9 for starters.

Gave it a test drive around town and on the highway. Race 5 downshifts quick but I suppose that's what you'd want it to do.

Anyway, that's my initial report. I'll play with it for awhile and see how it rounds out.

Sweet, glad to help ya out. Personally I like these on Red settings, but must end up around green 7-9 it seems.

For those of you running the booster, have you seen any drop in gas mileage? If so, how much?

Installed mine tonight. Honestly, I've been babying my car because its so new so I didn't really worry about its lack of responsiveness.

I tried it first on Sport 9, which seems to be the level most people like the most. It actually was a little too responsive to me; it forced me to very lightly tap the gas when driving at like 25-30 mph, which put more fatigue on my leg.

I switched it to Sport 7 and I'm liking that so far. I think that's where I'll leave it for a while, so I actually just removed the controller cable and stuck it in the center console. If I want to adjust it again in the future, I'll just plug it back in.

Thanks for the post. Yea, that's what's cool with the controller. You don't have to use it! Set it, forget it, unplug controller if you want.

How do I disconnect the harness connector from the accelerator pedal?

I spent almost 10 minutes pulling on it to the point where my fingers were nearly bleeding and it refuses to even budge.

There is a clip to push in on opposite side (before you pull). If you are just pulling like crazy w/ out depressing clip, you'll eventually get it to come loose ... by breaking it.

Yeah, that's why I took off the two 10mm nuts that hold the pedal assembly down. I had a hard time feeling the tab you press down on when it's out of sight.

Once you see what you're doing and have a good grip on it, it comes off surprising easily.

YMMV. There may be a lot of variation in the molded plastic connectors. If they run the molding machines too fast, it can get ugly.

If you have bigger hands and don't know what the plug looks like it may take some fiddling. You don't have to remove the pedal. I can try to make a video so I can show what the plug looks like and how it disconnects if that would help?
