Sprint Booster from Burtman Industries

Hello all,

Just a little heads up on the SB and Burtman Ind.

I did as much research as I could on these (being my 4th 4.0L) and finally pulled the trigger from Burtman.

His price, ship speed and 5 year warranty made it the best place by far.

He actually called me today and went over the order and and install etc and asked me to call him after a few weeks to give my input on it. Pretty much unheard of CS if you ask me.

i will update this with me experience with the SB ( I know there are a couple threads out there but I think this is the new firmware so i feel its relevant).

In any case, good guy, good price and business, I recommend you give him a try when its time to buy some "stuff"

Why? It's no different than pressing the gas pedal more aggressively. How is it causing more drivetrain/transmission stress?

Also: I had mine installed then I removed it because I was finding too many cases where it was abruptly downshifting. But, I tried it one more time and went super conservative on the settings. I'm now fiddling between sport1 and sport2 and loving it. Just enough of an enhanced "feel" of responsiveness to make the truck not feel gutless. That and Premium, but that's another thread

300K? Probably not- but I got the 7yr 100k warranty so maybe that long. Until the gov outlaws gas ha

Not sure why you think this. Any actual data to prove otherwise. Will a 5th gen make it that far, 300K miles? Toyotas can and have.
But if there is something you feel, or have factual data, let us know.
Mine runs great, and the truck feels better do to throttle response. Its an archaic truck, so anything that can make the 5th gen "feel" better in driving and throttle response, I appreciate it.

I removed my PC as it kept triggering my check engine light and putting my truck into limp mode.
Issue would go away after I restarted but it was incredibly irritating/dangerous.
Even submitted my PC for a warranty replacement and they detected no issues with my unit.

Been leaning towards replacing it with an SB instead.

This is common issue with knockoff brands. I also sell the PC and a few others, (i've done a lot of testing myself) but removed them from the website for the exact reasons you listed. This product also put a bad taste in people's mouths and that's why I'm including the 5 year warranty with the Sprint Booster, which no one else does. It's just the better unit, doesn't give me headaches after the sale, and one that I can stand behind.

A little back story.. Sprint Booster actually invented the technology, patented it and won multiple Sema show awards and now on version 3. This updated version is tweaked with many other features like Pedal lock (lets you enter a 3 digit pin to disable the pedal, say you're truck is an an airport or hotel for a week, or even at home and you're away and want peace of mind. If someone gets it started, then can't drive it away, gas pedal is locked out. I had a customer with a 2021 limited who was a pilot. Every time he went out of town his 16 yr old daughter would find the keys and take the truck out with her friends! This is why he wanted the booster, so this is why I remind people of these hidden features. And there is Valet mode (lets you set a specific rpm, say 3,500, and the truck won't go over that. Say you brought it to a shop and you don't want someone hot doggin with it, etc..

We've had the Sprintbooster on our '17 4Runner for a couple years now and couldn't be happier! It's been absolutely trouble free and the improved throttle response is something we can't live without now.
We're so happy with it, one is going in our FJ Cruiser very soon!
