Anyone try the lockout mode? Auto theft here rampant, and beyond the standard feature, thought this could be useful. Do you simply input a code into the controller to activate/de-activate?

I had a customer that was a pilot. Every time he went out of town his 16 yr old daughter would take the truck out with her friends! Wherever he hid the keys, she would find them. He bought the booster from me for this reason! Now if she gets the keys, she isn't going anywhere!

Just got my SB installed that I ordered from Jason. First impression was DAMN this thing is tiny! The size was perfect to fit in the blank switch slot just to the left of the steering wheel. Install was super easy, with the exception of the OEM throttle cable. That thing sucks and the angle you have to put your body in is awkward to say the least. Just don’t give up! Upon taking an initial spin around the residential block and was initially disappointed. However that changed when going down more commercial streets and I needed to accelerate more. This is where the SB shines. It no longer feels like I’m dragging the whole weight of the vehicle behind me, but the vehicle now feels like it accelerates more like it should. The only recommendation I would make is to mount the SB with Velcro. This will make hiding the module easier when taking to the dealership for any warranty work.

Great review and you hit the nail on the head! Also, you don't have to hook up the controller at all if you don't want to. Once you set it, you can unplug it and it will save the setting in the firmware. But, I like it connected as you have the other features like Pedal Lock and Valet mode!

Gives a much better feel to the throttle response and I am glad I picked it up. Jason B offers the best price and very quick shipping and is a great person to work with if you have any questions.

A few other things that makes this special, besides the throttle fix are these new features (and some have bought this just for these reasons):

NEW - VALET MODE: Valet mode lets you set an rpm point that the car can't go over. Good for when you don't want someone joyriding at the dealer or when you don't want your wife beating your vehicle around, yea like you'll let her drive it, lol.

NEW - LOCK OUT MODE: Lock out mode let's you set a pin and if someone breaks in and tries to steal your car, the gas pedal is locked out and they are going nowhere! Ex, say your park at an airport or a place your aren't comfortable with. Many say it gives them more peace of mind. Yes, if someone really wants to steal your car, they will find a way, but this is just another layer of protection may make them take someone else's car.

WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY: I also have these for just about every car there is, so ask if you want to try on your other vehicles. As far as dealership concerns there is a law called the Magnuson Moss Act. Sprint Booster works manufacturers OWN safety protocols so it's a no worry option.

Also, on the Gibson, it's easier to install it starting from the rear of the truck, with the tailpipe first and work your way up to the front, ending with the muffler. Then tighten everything down at the very end. Putting both links below.

Also, on the Gibson, it's easier to install it starting from the rear of the truck, with the tailpipe first and work your way up to the front, ending with the muffler. Then tighten everything down at the very end. Putting both links below.

Got the sprint booster installed earlier today and took it for a spin. Holy hell what a difference! And I just have it at sport 5 for now. Love it. Took a couple minutes to get used to it - my son gave an audible “whoa” from the backseat when a light turned green haha

Good to know on the Gibson, thanks! Did notice the instructions mentioned it doesn’t fit the Limited. Is that just because of the side exit tips? And it hits the trailer hitch assembly? Tried searching around but couldn’t for the life of me find what specifically is the issue with the Limited. Planned to attack it today and play around to see what the issue is, but ran into the bolts being seized so hit it with pb blaster. Heading out of town for the week so going to go back at it next weekend

No, that's for newer 4Runners, 5th gens on some limited models. All good on 4th gen.

I got my SB installed a few days ago. The result is fantastic. I highly recommend this product if the throttle delay bothers you. MY wife and I agree that Sport 5 is perfect for everyday driving. I will probably turn it down or off for off-road use.

I used a Dremel with a hole saw bit to create a relief channel for the wire in the at the base of the empty knockout next to the dimmer. I also made a matching channel on the inner lip of the hole. It looks good and doesn't stress the wire.
