How can I tell if this is already installed? I have 2 of the same 4runners. One is super snappy on the accelerator and the others is pretty laggy. Enough so that even my wife mentioned that one feels quicker than the other.

I poked my head under the dash and all looked factory. Does this plug into the gas pedal wiring harness?

They look pretty similar.

Faster one (185K miles)

Slower one (95K miles)

Now the tape is coming off on the quicker one...? From what I can see, both wire sets join with the brake wiring and then disappear behind the dash. Looks pretty stock to me.

Ok, yep, both of those plugs are 100% stock, no sprint booster installed. Maybe the slower one is dragging a rotor, or possibly clogged cat, or torque converter starting to go, not sure why the lower mileage one is running slowing when everything is stock on both trucks.

BUT, you can try (1) sprint booster and swap it on both trucks and see how much faster either one gets, etc.

I've had a few people ask if the 4th and 5th gen units are interchangeable and the answer is no. meaning, if you have one of these on a 4th gen 4Runner it won't work on a 5th gen 4Runner, or vice versa This 4th gen unit will work for 2003-2009 4Runner, and also GX470.

And no worries, Corona isn't stopping me, unless I drink it

Sweet and easy upgrade

Ordered my sprint booster from Jason a couple weeks ago and installed it 2 days later. This thing makes a HUGE difference. It says green settings are 30% more responsive to your foot and red settings are 60% more responsive. I think those numbers are low honestly. I’ve tried every setting (driving the same loop over and over around my neighborhood and city streets) and I really like the green 9. It’s WAY more responsive than the stock set up but still gentle enough I don’t launch off every stop light. I have a 07 Sport with the V8 and the red settings are CRAZY responsive... so much so my lack of a gentle peddle foot sends me rocking on every stop and go. I would highly recommend this easy upgrade!

So here is my honest review. My wife can never tell the difference with anything. So I had her take the 4runner for a spin around the block stock. Had her come back home she got out of the truck. I changed the setting to Green 7 and had her go back for a spin. To my surprise, she comes back home and asked what I did. She said 4runner was so much more responsive and she didn't have to push on the gas pedal as hard. I didn't think I would have enjoyed the Sprint Booster as much as I do. Not just saying this...but it truly makes it fun to drive! Little expensive, but definitely worth it.

Was that you that told me this story over the phone??? I've had a few tell me something similar with their wives never noticing stuff but they do with this. I think it makes everyone feel safer too, when you have than extra confidence when you hit the gas.

04rnr - I also sell the pc but it's been causing issues with Bluetooth in radios with the 5th gens and aftermarket radios. It works but doesn't work as well as the Sprint Booster. I've just had too many problems with the pc but if you want one I can still sell you one.

Received mine today. Install is pretty easy except for the cramped working quarters under the dash. So far I'm impressed with the booster, it most definitely makes the throttle more responsive. I would advise against going crazy with it to start as you will likely end up getting in an accident if you aren't ready for it. Start at low numbers and work your way higher as you get used to the change in throttle response. I just filled my tank so I'll see if there's any change in the gas mileage. Even if there isn't, I'm happy having a throttle that actually does what I want now!

will the Sprint Booster work on a 2003? I had looked on their site and for some reason they have it going from 2004-2009. I saw on your site that it started with 2003. Was just curious if there was some difference? If so, do you have the one for the 2003 in stock?
