Sprint Booster

Just received mine today...looking forward to the difference.

BTW new to this forum, been lurking for the last couple months since I got my TRD Pro.

First thing I noticed was the conservative throttle response....I thought it would get better. Never did, I adjusted my driving style to the vehicle. Its nice to have a device to fine tune the mapping for your driving style.

My '94 Land Crusier is a fat hige pig but feels way faster compared to the fancy electronics in this gen.

Info in this forum is very useful...thanks to all the contributors

I have a 5th Gen (version 2) Sprint Booster for sale if anyone is interested. It was $260 new (you can only get version 3s now and they are $290)... I’d like to get $185 shipped for it. I sold my 2016 4runner today and took the SB out before I sold it. Works great, comes with the remote which you can set and unplug, or leave hooked up and mount (I recommend just setting it to green and unplugging the remote).

I also have some fitted Husky rubber floor liners for the front and rear seats, as well as a Weathertech cargo mat, if anyone local to Socal is interested in those (I’m in Redlands).

Email me at [email protected] (I don’t check my PMs on here very often).

I think my truck "learns" the sprint booster setting and compensates after a couple months. It started seeming a bit sluggish again so I bumped it up to the red (I have the older sprint booster which only switches between off, green, and red) and it went back closer to being quicker. I remember when I first installed it, I turned it to red and about drove through someone's house.

Also I think this might be a good rock-crawling mod because if the ecu does learn it and start to compensate for it, it should work in reverse too. Turn off the sprint booster and it should effectively deaden the throttle response further than stock which I have found handy when crawling, especially with the punchy V8.

More observations will be conducted...

I'm at Green 2. Started higher and have gradually backed down so that it's just enough when needed.
You guys are a bunch of lead foots!

I'm really thinking about getting one. Just wanting to make sure I won't have buyers remorse after getting it. Also wanting to see if I can get a discount on the price.

I was hesitant before buying. But it is worth it!! I was so dissatisfied with the acceleration. This mod has daved me the f5K from getting the supercharger kit(at this time). I would certainly encourage anyone on the fence about it to go for it.. you will not be disappointed!!

Just got mine in the mail today. Trying to see to consensus on whether or not everyone has been removing the pedal for installation, or just plugging it in without removing it. The instructions that came with it don't really address removing anything.

I did not remove the peddle, once you get the little latch clip open it is cake. The plug will pull out easily.

What is the zip tie for? I'm going to install it once I get out of work, before heading to class.

I think that is just to help with the slack in the cable, i just kinda coiled it up, and zip tied it. Mine was on the Peddle Commander, but same-o same-o.

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl for a week or so and see what all the fuss is about. I've read more good than people bashing on it for being a placebo. I won't lose sleep about it either way. If it makes my truck more enjoyable to drive, that'll make it worth it to me. If I see no difference, I'll just send it back and get my money back and waste it on some other stupid crap.

That's how i see it also, i like the throttle response, and was not really looking for better gas milage. If i do get more, bonus.
