2001 4Runner Limited V6. 140k mileage.
In July I woke to find she simply wouldn't start. I put new battery in, checked connections etc. No joy. Had her towed to local mechanic (non-dealer).
He put in new ignition switch, new key and tumbler. Problem solved she purred like a kitty.
One month later in August she started idling rough...running rougher. When accelerating (1500-2500 rpms) she sputters and bucks while there's also a pinging noise coming from under the passenger side floor board area. Only upon accelerating. I put in fuel cleaner. No help.
Trouble codes (O'Reilly AP and Autozone) were originally p1135/p0340/p1633.
Local mechanic replaced spark plugs and coils, cleaned ground wires and put in new camshaft sensor. This eliminated the p0340 code and she idles smooth again.
But the sputtering/bucking/pinging continues upon accelerating. Not to mention lousy gas mileage. Codes p1135 and p1633 still show.
Any help out there in T4R land?
