I pulled my sr5 side Emblems, I did not like the way the black out overlay kit took the detail away from the emblem. I am going to put some black trd or black sr5 ones back. I was surprised that they where just plastic, stupid me i figured they had to be some sort of metal.

Did you just pull with your fingers or did you use the fishing line or dental floss method? I want to do the same but I’m worried about marks left behind or fading.

I simply used my fingers to pull my SR5 emblems off.
There was a little residue left behind but used some Goo Gone to remove it.

There may be some 'ghosting' (faint outline of emblem visible) depending on how long the emblems have been on.

I just removed mine a couple months ago when we had a few warm days back in February. It was close to 70 outside, I just parked so the sun was hitting directly on one side...gave it about 15 minutes and started to pull up gently with light but steady pressure (just fingers) and the adhesive let up nicely with practically nothing left behind. Went over the area with some liquid wax and all was good.

The emblem is plastic with a hollow back that is filled with some type of double-sided adhesive/tape.

I was careful

Heat gun and I used fishing line, then the heat gun carefully to remove the 3m tape. Lastly was GooGone to remove the adhesive. Then i just waxed the area and no marks can be seen.
