SR5 Fender Trim - Opinions Please

This past weekend I showed the runner some much needed love. I compounded, polished, and waxed it and I'm fairly satisfied with the results; considering I sweated my a$$ off in this heat wave to do it. To make the job easier, I removed the roof rack, the spoiler, and the chrome fender trim. Once I finished, I put the spoiler and the racks back on, but I held off on the fender trim and I’m kinda digging the look. Pretty sure I know the answer, but I was wondering what my fellow T4R brethren’s opinion is………put them back on or leave them off?

Looks great. I actually like it with and without the trim. It's your truck though, your's is the only opinion that matters.

I agree with pitbull your opinion is the only one that matters but personally I like the chrome trim because it goes with the chrome back and front bumper.

Looks good with no trim! I'm in the 757 too. We should hook up for a run down to Corolla beach soon!

Thanks guys. I know my opinion is the only one that matters, but I'm "on the fence" about it, so I thought I'd see what others had to say. I think I'm going to leave them off; at least for the time being.

I had the black ones on mine. I didn't pull them off intentionally put they got torn off on the trail. I think it looks better without them on anyways. I will try to find a before and after pic for you.

I say leave them off for awhile. Maybe in a few months you'll want the chrome look back and you can change things up...again.

I'm gonna remove my black plastic flares here soon and try that out awhile.

Nice Runner, I like those Tundra Rims. Thinking about getting them for my Rig. Anyway, I just took my slim chrome flares off in preparation for when my SR5 Flares arrive. IMO it looks a lot better with the chrome ones off the truck. Also, if you still have Running boards you can't sell you can pair them up with the chrome flares as a set. I was able to sell my slim fenders and black running boards to a guy last week for $180 cash who wanted the complete set!

Leaving them off for a while. Maybe even for good because I'd eventually like to get anthracite bumpers front and rear. I've thought about painting the original bumpers myself, but I'm kind of cautious because I don't want the chrome showing through on the front every time the paint gets chipped. I prepped the crap out of my rims and they chipped pretty easily when I had the tires installed and the alignment done.

And to the local 757 guys.....Me and my family are down at Corolla most weekends. It'd be great to have a bunch of T4R members representing. I see way too many Heeps! :lol:
