SR5 to SPORT Conversion

Yeah looking at the lines on my XREAS there would be no way to get it out without bending the hard lines. Once they disconnect it from one vehicle and the lines are opened and fluid has drained, how do they plan to "recharged" or refill the system?

My 06 4R with XREAS rides like a dream and I'm scared to get rid of it because I don't want to end up with a worse ride, but people are saying they noticed an improvement after removing it.

Also, depending on how many miles are on the vehicle, that system will need to be serviced or replaced eventually anyways. I'd hate to think what they would charge to replace a shock.

I'd also not let the dealer rip and tear into a vehicle like that. It will be worth the wait to find the vehicle you want without the games.

There are disconnect points with check valves in the system where fluid loss will be a minimum, a drop or two.

Standard wheels on a SR5 are 16" regardless of V6 or V8, 2WD or 4WD. Most SR5's came with the optional 17" wheels, 5 spokes, same design as the Tacoma with the TRD Sport package.

The SR5 all came with the smaller brakes. All Sport Editions came with the bigger brakes. Some Limiteds got the bigger brakes, while others have the smaller one.

Thanks much for that info, Uneek. I am now thinking of upgrading to a V8 4Runner, as the Travel Trailer that we will be buying might turn out to be heavier than originally planned, and if so, we will need the additional towing capacity of the V8 runner.

If I do upgrade to a V8 model, since it is for towing purposes, I DEFINITELY want a model with the larger brakes. You said that that some of the Limited models have the larger brakes and some do not. That begs several questions:

Are the larger brakes on the front wheels only, or all 4 wheels?
Is there any easy way to tell if a T4R has the larger brakes other than pulling the wheel off? ... like perhaps a specific part of the VIN# perhaps?
Would the Limited V8 be more likely to have the larger brakes?

Take a good look at the brakes I'm sure you can tell if it has the bigger brakes. If not take a tape measure and look for 13.3 inchs And the bigger rotors are only in the front.
