Transmission blew and lost our brake booster. The truck is slowly getting fixed and finished how it should have been before the race. With such a tight pre-KOH deadline we were just throwing stuff on the truck as fast as we could

Bummer indeed! I was def invested in this project and have been following some of the team’s private builds for some time now. The curiosity was real.
I’m always rooting for my fellow 4runner fam, especially you guys tbh. Hope you guys can improve and keep going. I’ve learned so much from your collective experiences. Thanks for the update and for all your blogs!!!

Thought my post went through the other day but I guess not.
No, not racing this year. After the truck made it half a mile last year Matt decided to cut it up and it's life is TBD. It's sitting in a pile of parts at his shop and will probably never run again.
We're here all week, I'm pitting for 468 which is a Samurai today.

Almost everything has been swapped over to his new FJ40 he picked up a few weeks ago. He's been talking about some decade chopping the front/rear off the 4Runner and converting it to 4500 class (ie add bypasses and LS swap it). What decade that happens, god only knows. Someone else should tell him the truck is totally fine and functional and it's easier to work out kinks than redo literally everything aside from the the A/B/C pillars. But I also thought the brakes should be functional to race, so what do I know.
The FJ40 will be pretty dope once he puts all the 4Runner's shocks and stuff on it, it already looks tits with it's tires/beadlocks/seats, so I guess there's that on the bright side.
