Very nice Matt. Still love that color. It epitomizes Florida, and the water around it.

I can empathize with your girlfriend. At 5'6" I'm no giant by any stretch, but manage to get in without the running boards. My girlfriend, however, is 5'3" and it is mission impossible to get in wearing a short dress without them.

I wonder how many of your fellow classmates can drive a manual?

History of the 4runner that never leaves:

My dad bought the 4runner new back in 1997 (Base 4cyl with 5 speed). He left it bare stock and used it as a daily driver. It was always garage kept and maintained very well (waxed twice a year). In 2010 my dad decided it was time to part ways with the 4 runner (125,000 miles) and buy a new 2011 Camaro RS. Selling the 4 runner to a family friend we know would be take well care of it.

Two years later…. I WANT A VEHICLE!!

After searching for a first vehicle for me we learn that the 4 runner is up for sale. Thinking it will be a perfect first vehicle we decide to purchase it back from our family friend (170,000 miles). But what got me real excited is the fact they put some money into it.

Lookin' good! Nice and clean thus far. It's sad, but the manual is a dying breed. I think there should be more of them on the roads than autos. Forces people to pay a little more attention to what they're doing. Hard to text and shift at the same time.

Not many people I know can drive it. Out of about 30 kids on my cross country team only one other knows how to drive manual. Best security system you can have in a car!

LOL on the security system - I read a couple months back somewhere in FL maybe someone jacked a vette with a couple in it then had to get out and leave it cuz they didn't know how to start it! The owner even told them "push the clutch in", they didn't know what the clutch was or where it was, LOL!

Yeah manual is SO MUCH FUN! In anything, it could be a corolla, but it is so much fun, I had the most fun though in a '64 IH Scout and an '01 Porsche Boxster, 3 vs. 6 speed but both a blast to drive. Enjoy and Luck! :banana:

That's pretty funny actually. I really wanted a manual for my first vehicle, and I've enjoyed every moment of it!

Installed a TRD antenna to replace my old broken one! Had some trouble mounting it but finally got it secure. Looks pretty sneak.

After hours of wiring and mounting finally got my 24" LED bar installed on the truck. I think it looks great and holy cow it sure is bright!!



Also, gained a few HP this afternoon with this awesome new add on!!

Nice truck man. Looks clean and you will love that 4cyl. It won't ever die and it gets great gas mileage. I'm still pulling 23ish in town and I have a 4wd. I'm sure with less weight you're doing a little better.

Last time I checked it was around 19. But my tires were low on air. I think it may have improved a little bit.

Check your valves. I was pretty shocked by how much some of mine were out. It will make a big difference possibly. I think your tires are pretty heavy by the looks of them. I went to a lighter rim and I think that helped quite a bit.

Also Seafoam works wonders. I ran a can through the tank, a quarter can through the vacuum lines(let the engine suck it in and then turn the engine off for 5 minutes, and then turn it back on and hope your neighbors like you...horrible white smoke), and quarter to half a can in the crank case 500mi before a couple oil changes. Also replacing your vacuum lines might help depending on how cracked they are.

I'll have to do that! Want to get a lift but parents wont let me, especially with that gas mileage lol.
