SSO Slimline and Bilstein 5100

Does anyone know if an SSO Slimline bumper together with a Rigid Industries Light Bar in the bumper will cause a significant sag in the front of the car? I'm currently on Bilstein 5100s all around set at 1.75" in the front with a 1" cornfed rear spacer. If so, would setting the 5100s at 2.5" correct any sag caused by the bumper?

I think using the stocks coils will ride pretty bad and will sag. The stock coils are only designed to hold up stock weight. I'd look into OME 2885 or 2887 coils. They will already give you a 2.5" lift with your 5100 at the 0 setting.

Thank you! I will look into those. Would you recommend an aftermarket coil for the rear as well? I plan on adding a gobi rack and ladder as well.
 
Look into the OME 2895E or Wheeler's T13 rear coils. Gets you a 2" lift and stiffer compared to stock. If you load any gear in the back it won't sag as bad.
 
Geez. You are only adding a few hundred pounds. How does your 4runner ride with a few people in there? Well, that's how it's going to ride when you add the 60 lbs on front and the 100 lb rack. You will be fine. So many here are all about overkill lol. Now if you added plate bumpers and winch and sliders and full skids then yes, get a bit heavier springs. For that little bit? Stock is fine.
 
Read my build thread. Linked below. A Gobi rack and ladder won't even add 100 pounds. My Baja rack was never even a consideration when upgrading suspension. What goes on it maybe, but not the rack itself.

It weighs ~65lbs, and- as long as you're running synth line- the winch doesn't weigh much either.
I'd guess you'd get ~3/8" sag max, and wouldn't notice the weight.
 
FWIW I am running 6112s with toytec front springs and 5100s I rear with TT Superflex coils. Have 2.5 inches in front and about 3 inches in rear. I just added a pelfreybilt hidden winch and a smittybilt xrc 9.5 synthetic. About 100# total. I have about a .25 inch of sag and the jounces are much more noticable. Not horrible though. Thst said, I don't plan to upgrade my front springs, just raise the billies up a notch.

I would change the front to 2.5" and keep the rear with the 1" cornfed! After the ~1/2" sag when you add the winch with synthetic line and bumper you should be sitting right where you are now or pretty close to it!

Wanted to check in on this. I'm in a similar boat but haven't bought any suspension parts yet. Just got the SSO Slimline and Come Up DV-9 winch (cable) installed and I'm guessing the front end has sagged ~2 inches. I've not decided if I want to just level it out or do about a 2" lift compared to stock.

Any follow up with this? I have a 16TEP with KDSS and want to throw a SSO slimline with a winch and synthetic line on for now. I wanted to know if anyone had issues with sag? Eventually i will tweak the suspension but was hoping i could wait a bit. I feel that 1engineer is probably right with 100-150lbs up front not really doing anything but was hoping someone had the same setup and had some time behind the wheel with it.
 
Have SSO with Smittybilt 10,000# and syn cable (137#). not very noticeable, but I do have a Toytec Ultimate lift and Red 650# front springs.

All good points mentioned in this thread. Regarding having four or five passengers in the vehicle as a comparison for load rating, keep this in mind...

All of the passengers in their seating positions are positioned behind the front axle and ahead of the rear axle thus equally distributing the weight between the two axles or at least sharing the load between the two axles. When you have a 100 pound winch on the front of the vehicle it is ahead of the front axle therefore all of the weight from the winch/bumper is on the front springs and not distributed partially between the front and rear springs. Therefore you will achieve more sag in the front suspension with a 100 pound winch/bumper than you would with a couple of passengers in the normal seating positions. This is due to the fact that the weight is not evenly distributed between the front and rear. The same applies for the rear configuration. It really boils down to a matter of leverage and fulcrum points. Weight distribution is a factor not just weight in general.
