Painted the skid plate, I know everyone does red, but it just looks so darn good w the red coil overs ...!
Sanded and re-painted the flares and body cladding.

Last yrs snowpocolypse in KC was pretty interesting, never had I seen so many ppl think they could drive a stock car through 18" + of snow... Lol I pulled a lot of ppl out including 1 sheriff and 1 police officer.... The runner did great !
Removed and Covered the hood in primer before Reinstalling it and before I can get around to getting it to the paint shop for a real coat of paint.
Took some picture if my current seats to send to the factory so I could order new ones... Wear and tear.... Ugh....

U can see where it was bent a lil, I was gonna call em and get some credit back or something buy I decided not to bother..... I fixed w a few light swings w a ball-pin hammer.

With extension installed.... Not bad but it blocks my sun roof
No good.
With out extension..... But I wanted my lights to be more forward...
I went ahead and mounted it wo the extension installed...
The. I did some more reading and go to find out that kc lights on top pushed too far forward and create a terrible glare from reflecting off the hood. In the long run I ended up leaving the extension out and I am glad... I have this scenario in my mind of some type of emergency(possible water or ice) where I need to escape through my sunroof... Paranoid ? Probably ... Prepared ? Hopefully ...

Oh, and for those of u who want/like a low profile rolo roof mount adapter.... Trying turning the brackets upside down and remove the spacer.... I know it's not ment that way but it works surprisingly well.... And if anyone wants to steal it the have to uncrank the knobs a fraction at a time because they are on the underside, so atleast it will take them a lil longer....

Ya, my profession is not body work, and I can't justify spending that kinda money on paint just to go get it scratched up, so I do what I can.

Welded on plate tabs for the gobee lights and basic light tabs for the others....
Hopefully replace them w something better in the future.
I heard these things can rust out quickly so u washed it and sprayed rust oleum truck bed liner on it x3 and black rust oleum x2

A buddy's truck he is getting ready for the mud runs at KS Badlands
He has a funny car motor in it that's putting out around 800-900 hp

Went to a local good ol boy shop that had a huge pipe bender to help me bend my pipe for the bumper.
I was going to pack the pipe w sand, heat it w the torch and bend it myself but... There's no way I could be as precise as an actual pipe bender... I think he charged me like 40 bucks for cutting and bending and I was going to weld me myself but then he even helped me weld them up while I was there
Good thing i angled that bottom bumper piece ! Closest parking job for awhile. I wouldn't have to have parked like that if they hadn't pulled over the line ! Haha, no worries

Started my seat heater install...
While the front seats will get used the most, the rear seats will need them the most, because I don't have rear heat. So here are some basic tear down photos:
To those of u who want to know... It's pretty simple, just remove seats, pop off back cover,cut hog rings, un-wrap leather, install heating element and re-install ...

Ordered new seat covers Which took FOREVER to arrive !
They sent me vinyl instead of leather which added shipping time.
By the time I had ordered and finally received all the correct necessary parts it was about 3mo.
HAVE NO FEAR ! ... The company that I orders from usually doesn't go farther back that 2002 and they made an exception for me, however they used a clothe pattern instead of a leather and with all the problems they had w my seat matching up they asked for my old seats for pattern making and color matching and gave me a partial refund, so theoretically if u orders u should get the correct color and fitment

Once you get the new seat cover on, u will have to cut holes to mount seat

There are several site that sell them for 350-600 just search gobee lights or gobee golight. I found one NOS on Amazon for 185 and a used one on eBay for 165.... But I searched for While...
Mine are the wireless remote style
I do some coyote hunting from time to time and also live on a ranch and these things are handy and have some reach !

Installed 2 if the seat heater switches today.
Sorry for the dirty console but I was so frikn cold out I didn't feel like doing much cleaning while working.
With left over material I re-covered my armrest. It doesn't have the same stitching as original but it's also not worn out and falling apart now

One mod that I have wanted to do and have fallen asleep thinking about it many times is the hood scoop! I went through all this trouble and MONEY to get a hood w a scoop(it's really not a click n buy thing) and it's not even functional !!! Can u Imagine my disappointment ? I'm actually sure u can. I went and did my research and there's really no viable way to make it function like a hood scoop with out adding a carb and well pretty much putting a new engine in... I've see guys run ducting to the intake box, corrugated tubbing, etc.... But it is nearly impossible to make it ram air and certainly not efficient.
Soooo.... Next idea ? I tried numerous retro fits to put spot light like led's in there... I mean how cool would it be to have a beam coming out of ur scoop ? I measured nearly every rectangular flat led light I could find to put in there.... There being about 12" by 1 1/2" and about an inch of depth. I even purchased one on eBay that looks like the rigid industry's led light bar with a description of 1x12" however I come to find out they ment 1 light bar that is 12" long but actually has a hight of 2 1/2" so it wouldn't fit either. Then I talked to several manufacturers of the high powered led light bars and there's a reason there is such a big heat sink on those things and even if I did get one to somehow fit in that tiny space, it would be right above the motor on a black hood, and the led would most likely be short lived due to heat. So w reluctance I opted for accent lights.... I purchased several different types from different sellers including a few off eBay and Amazon, found the ones I liked and started to see howmany I could pack in there and the. I Out lined the top and bottom small spaces w side shine led strips, 3 led strips in the back of the scoop and one led red scanner in the middle(u know, knight rider type then Covered em all in a light coat of clear silicon to help try and disperse some of the light. Connected wires and made a grommet/shielding/protector of sorts out of sugru. If u haven't heard of or know about sugru... This stuff is amazing !!! Forms like silly puddly and hardens like rubber/silicon, check it out, great for modding.
Actually it's pretty bright!!! But unfortunately now all my other lights turned ugly yellow ...

Replaced the rear back up lights w small led light bar ones. I always liked LEDs but the more I use em the more I like em.... They hardly draw any power and as time goes in they get cheaper and more powerful!
The camera really doesn't do it justice ! W my window tint in the back, at night it is dangerous to back up, half the time I roll down my back window! This is such an improvement.

I have started using this liquid electrical tape to cover the electrical tape I use to keep it from unraveling.
Every time I do a mod and it comes out as good or better, I fall in love w the 4runner all over..... These lights work great !! Especially considering they r so cheap !!!
