Start Clutch Cancel Wires

So now that I have more time and access to my runner again I decided to finish working on my interior. I want to install a new start clutch cancel button but I need to figure out what wire does what. Anyone know?

Just by guessing;
white/black is the function wire
black/yellow is the positive wire for the back light
black/red (thickest) is the ground

Anyone have concrete answer on this?

On the clutch pedal, you will see a little white prong that sticks out and there is a plug connected to it. All you have to do is get a wire and cross the 2 sides of the switch on the car side. You will never need the button again.

Maybe this will help.

Yeah that helps a little. Still working on figuring out which wire goes to which prong on the new switch

I don't want to get rid of the button, I really like having it. I'm just trying to swap out the original one and retrofit another one in there.

I'm doing the same with my rear defogger and hazards. Those are proving MUCH more difficult. If you have diagrams of those Coffey50 I will love you forever

Looks like the switch has its own relay? What's the coil in the image? Looks like a relay to me.

Not sure how the switch works, but its not just a momentary switch, it has circuitry to keep it "depressed" once you tap the switch.

I believe the defogger switch does the same thing, might need to disassemble them to see what the internals are so you can either retrofit it to another switch, or find a switch with similar circuitry.

Just an observation from me though, it may be completely different, as I've never attempted to dissect one of these switches before!

When you delete the button like I stated, the truck always starts no matter what, without the clutch being pushed in. I realize that isn't what you want, I just wanted to state it as an option.

I think you're misunderstanding the switch. Its not just a switch but more of a relay according to the diagram. Allowing the starter to draw current even though certain conditions haven't been met like the clutch pedal being pushed to the floor.

I could be wrong.

The wires I believe are W/B = ground ....B/R= to the starter relay ....B/Y is running to the ignition. I annotated the functions of the button that act more as a relay.

I don't believe the start clutch cancel is really a relay because I was able to activate my regular rocker switch when I wired it up early (did not attempt to start the car because of a blown HG) I think I also figured out all the wires on the defogger as well. What had me confused on that was that I was getting way to much power draw from it when I hooked it up to the rocker. The hazard is going to be the PITA. In that case I believe the switch is like a relay as I'm not able to activate it without the switch like i am with the defogger. That's the switch I'm not sure I'll be able to swap which will suck because it'll be the odd one out

You should take photos of your clutch cancel switch and wiring when you're done. I about to replace my A340H with a R150

Here's how it sits now;

I admittedly am unsure of what else you might need a pic of but let me know and I'll see if I can get it. I have my dash pretty torn up right now so I can probably get it easily.
