Hi all,
It looks like the starter in my T4R needs to be replaced...however when looking at the parts list I see two different units shown. One is 28100-62030-84 marked as 1.8kw and the other is 28100-62050-84 with no power rating shown and $14 more.
Does it matter, or is there a way to tell what is in my truck now? It is a late (May 1997) SR5 V6 with A/C.
I think the contacts are worn...sometimes when cranking it will just stop, and then when I turn the key again it fires right up. Battery is good. I did see the posts about just changing the copper parts but I think I'd rather replace the whole unit seeing as how other parts could be worn (brushes, springs, bearings). It is the original starter.
It looks like it might be a bit of a hassle to replace it so I may just have a shop do it...
Thanks!
Ted
