Starting issues

Help please! Yesterday I removed my skid plates and reinstalled them. They were missing some bolts and were dented up a little bit. After I completed this I started it up without any problems. This morning when I went to start it up, it would crank but wouldn't turn over. It smelled like something (electrical maybe) was burning but I didn't have time to investigate the issue before work. It sounded like it was pretty strong when it was trying to crank up but wouldn't turn over. Any ideas???? :wtf:

This is a shot in the dark but I had the same problem and my starter had died. If you keep clicking it trying to start it, does it eventually start? Mine would sometimes take 20-30 times to get it to start.

It is not making the clicking noise right now. It was doing that for a second but it would quickly turn over on the first try. Now it is trying to start without any clicking but not firing up. It just continued to crank. I tried 3 or 4 times and started to smell something burning and quit before I caused any more damage to anything else. Any ideas?

Ok, I am having a little trouble understanding what's happening now. It is turning over and just not starting? or It's not doing anything when you turn the key?
