solution!
So I learned this recently in physics class:
(I can't give you all the details/reasoning cuz I didn't pay THAT much attention)
You hold the metal part of your key between your index finger and thumb for 2-3 seconds, and you step out of the car and touch the tip of the key to the metal of the door while still holding the metal base of the key. That will discharge the static. Try it at night--it's sweet. Oh and when the shock is really really big, you see this big spark and you can feel it jolt your arm. But at least it doesn't hurt as bad. Oh and if you don't feel a shock, don't blame me--you weren't going to get shocked anyway. But I swear it works if you're about to get shocked.
