stealth Subwoofer install

I was searching this forum to find out how I could install a sub in my non bose equipped SR5, and I came across someone who had put sound ordinance powered 8" sub under their drivers seat. When it arrived I discovered that it does fit, but will limit seat movement or have to slide back and forth. The problem is that my wife cannot know it is there. She made me promise that after I sold the car I owned when we were married there would be no more ugly speakers showing in our cars. I used to have a sub box with 2 12" subs and a coustic 560 amp screwed to it in my pathfinder. Awesome amp look it up. It was 40" by 14" by 3" required 4 gauge wire, and really made 1200 watts RMS when in two channel mode. It had an 100 amp fuse.
Any way I was sad that the fit was not as stealth as I had expected but I have found a solution. Next weekend when she goes away I will do the install, and I'll post picks. I am going to put it in the drivers side seat back. If it works I might add another to the passenger side. I have already put it in, and it fits. I just need to figure out how to keep it up there without damaging the seat. I don't think it will be hard though.

He wants to put a Sub under the seat, so that his wife, who doesnt like how speakers look, wont see it.

Makes more sense, I just gathered that he tried that, it didn't work, and now he's going to "put it in the driver's side seat back."

Either way, I hope she likes the feel of bass!

she likes the feel. she doesn't want to see anything. i am going to try it rear facing and front. front facing the driver will definitely feel it. you can't even tell it is there when it is in. I won't be able to do the install until Saturday, but ill post pics when i do. Under the seat would have been fine but she is short and im tall, and under the seat limits forward back adjust-ability, or I'll have to mount it where you can see the whole thing on the floor when she is driving.

I'd be more worried about a wife who tells you what kind of speakers you can put in your truck. Sorry, but someone had to say it. Instead, you ought to put four 15's in there so she won't ride in it ever again. :flamethrwoer2:

And after. The sub is in the seat. You can't even tell it is there, but it sounds great and when you turn it up it feels great. It isn't like having a Bo with 12s in the trunk but it's good.

There's a ground bolt under the carpet, more cleaner.
