Steering damper replacement

Got a KYB steering damper that has no ball joint, just a rubber bushing. Supplier swears it's the right part but I can't believe it will function correctly. Is any one else running a bushing instead of the ball joint on non-oem replacement steering dampers?

Nothing but bushings on any of mine.

Fair enough, this is what I expected:

Toyota Hilux/4 Runner/Surf IFS Steering Damper -New KYB

But this is what I recieved:
KYB SS10351 Steering Stabilizer

Came out of the factory with a ball joint, but if bushings are working then I'm good.

It should have come with stud or something to bolt into the hole left by the stock one, and then mount the eye to that.
If it didn't come with some kind of hardware to adapt the mounting, maybe send it back and demand the correct one.

Most aftermarket ones come with a stud and 2 rubber bushings and washers instead of the eye type mount (both ends).
