Steering Rack squeaking

probably about 3 months after doing my lift I starting getting some squeaking from my upper control arm bushings on the driver side. I installed a diff 1 inch diff drop greased around the bushing daily for three days. That noise went away but I also noticed that my Steering rack started squeaking around the same time. I check my power steering fluid everything is fine so my question is what's wrong why is it squeaking.

Probably just the bushings. Cheap and easy to replace. I just used the energy suspension bushings and they're $20.

Easy? Lucky you. Replacing the steering bushings was the 2nd most difficult and frustrating job I've ever done on my 4Runner. 1st place belongs to a transmission valve body rebuild/upgrade. But yeah, it's probably your steering rack bushings. If you jack up the front end and have a friend turn the wheel and see the rack move underneath, you found the culprit.

Steering rack bushing will check those out for sure

Thank you all for your suggestion. I will be back with an update very shortly

It was fairly easy for me. I just did it yesterday. The most time consuming part was lining up the middle mount for the vertical bolt. Took some trial and error (Tip: don't use rear washer on left bolt until middle bolt is threaded). My old bushings popped right out.

You can test the rack bushings without a friend. Just turn key to ON or start vehicle, duck down and peek at the rack while you wiggle the steering wheel with your hand.

I did my rack bushings last year but in the last few days I noticed pretty good screeching when turning, I got someone to turn the wheel with engine running and I got under the 4runner and its the rack itself that's squeeling/groaning definetley not any bushings or tierod ends etc. I just ordered a rack
