Steering wheel changes??

So I have a 98 4runner and I needed to get a used steering wheel because mine was very worn. Anyways I had a shop do it and they could not put my old airbag/horn middle piece into the new wheel because "your old one has 4 screw holes and the new one only has 2 holes". So I have to find a used airbag that only has 2 bolts I guess. What year airbag would that be since my old steering wheel was a 98??? Thanks!

What did they get the used wheel from? They should have used the airbag from the newer wheel, I would think (assuming it's a Toyota wheel with the same airbag plug).
Actually. it sounds like you need another shop if that's the best they could do for you.

Can you post pics of both wheels? I swapped mine over (99) without a problem, and the wheel part was the same for the entire gen, if I recall correctly.

Sorry maybe I worded this wrong. The NEW wheel I bought did not have the middle horn/airbag piece so the plan was to use my old one and put it into the new one.

Was your old wheel 2 spoke and the new one 4 spoke?
