steering wheel controls with Eclipse AVN2454

Hello everyone, it's my first time posting here but I've been lurking around this forum for awhile before I decided to get myself a 2006 T4R Sport Edition 4x4.

I used to have an old Eclipse AVN2454 and I would like to install that on my new T4R. I would like to know if anyone knows whether or not I can still use the control buttons on the steering wheel after installing the Eclipse system?

I've seen some threads previously mentioned that the new Eclipse will work with the steering controls as a default installation. It would be nice if I can still use the steering wheel controls.

I can't confirm it because I don't have any firsthand knowledge, but you might want to check with TRZ06... I think he installed the same system in his.

It should work because it's very similar to the AVN-5435 system, which does work with the steering wheel controls.

I can't confirm either for the AVN2454 but I installed the AVN6600 last night into a 2006 SR5 and needed no adapter harness or the PAC for the steering wheel controls - factory plugs went right in to the HU. Install went super easy (30 minutes) until I had to locate the Speed and Reverse wires (2 hours!!!). I'm not familiar with the AVN2454 and whether it has nav... If you need to know where the Speed and Reverse wires are, let me know.

No, the steering wheel controls will not work with the AVN2454. I currently have it installed in my 03 and had to buy an IR transmitter from PAC. It does, however, work well. I actually just upgraded to the AVN6600 and will be installing this weekend. This unit does support Toyota's steering wheel controls.
