It may be in the steering. I notice a very subtle pulsing in the steering while on hiway overpass curves @ 50mph+ Then again that could be out of balance tires. Every time Ive brought it in they have said the tire were out of balance so who knows. My 2011 did not do it with the bridgestones or with the BFG AT KOs I put on it.

Fjs have same issues.. Very ssensitive to even the slightest imbalance

Jeep cherokee and wranglers I have owned have zero shimmy never ever.. Just saying

At the stealership right now

I've contacted Toyota.....these phucking ass clowns got "Toyota" involved with a "field rep" ..... But they're re road force balancing these wheels again.....
When did Toyota become Chevrolet ? Because the last time I had issues like this/workmanship like this I owned a crappy American car....
Shimmy at 57-65, but 65 is where it's really at.....
I ready blasted one dealer and wrote them off....I'm at another dealer Huntington Toyota, and am quite annoyed here as well....
I'll follow up again n let you know how these idiots aren't doing their "jobs"

I am in EXACT mph range with my LE shimmy

Any fix to this? My 2015 TRD Pro is currently at Toyota for this issue. Steering wheel shimmy around 55mph, with it being the worst after the truck has been sitting for several hours. Also a strange fluttering in the steering wheel when making slight turns at speeds from about 45-60mph. Alignment and road force balance checked out fine. This is not acceptable for a brand new vehicle.

Tires flat spot when sitting still, nothing you can do about that. Balancer may be out of calibration or the person doing the balancing didn't get the wheel properly centered.

I refuse to buy the 'flat spot' phenomenon as I had 2000 shimmy-free miles in temperatures ranging from 10 degrees to 80 degrees.

Refuse it all you want, it does exist. If your steering wheel still shakes after a few miles, flat spotting is not the issue. Toyota IFS trucks are very sensitive to wheel balance - I have had many dozens of road force balances done in 200K ish miles (100K Taco, 100K T4R), and it usually takes 3-4 tries/shops to get it right.

2013 Limited with steering vibration

I had a 2010 SR5 that was incredibly smooth , this 13 Limited has a vibration coming thru the steering wheel thats almost embarassing . About 2000 rpm i feel it ... not sure what to do

Same Issue

Just in case anyone is following... Steering gear was replaced under warranty.

Do you have the specific items they replaced?

Just bought a used certified 2011 TE. Shimmy is there on brand new tires. Took it to the dealership yesterday, they balanced the tires and told me I was good to go. Got it out on the interstate and immediately the symptoms returned.
I got rid of my GT subaru to avoid these types of problems. Pretty disappointing. Beyond disappointing really....

:help:

It can be fixed two ways , they can update your rack or swap it out completely . I have heard of them doing both ways. It's a weak steering rack preload spring issue.tire rebalance will not cure this problem. But it is fixable .
Don't worry you bought a great vehicle !
